Some things from the high school au that I couldn’t manage to fit or likely won’t come up, but it’s my au so I’ve been thinking about them:

-Alek listens to playlists that Deryn sends him, especially when he’s studying bio. Volger heard him listening to one once on his speakers and was utterly disgusted by her taste.

-whilst helping her clean out her truck (Alek’s idea, the clutter was making him a wee bit crazy) he found a sleeve of condoms. This went about as you would expect. Deryn had to very delicately explain that she got them at a women’s rights rally she attended over the summer. ( I feel i should specify in my mind she literally got given them and just hucked them in her truck, their not there for any salacious reason. )

-Alek will sometimes lie and say he left something in Deryn’s truck and take her keys to “go get it” but actually he sneaks off with the truck and puts gas in it, because she won’t except outright gas money from him. Deryn pretends not to notice.

I don't know about you, but I am abnormally attached to Ethan Winters from Resident Evil 7 & 8. He's just my favourite character, not just based on who he is in the games, but because of the potential of a character like that. The game is a coward for killing him off, because there's so much potential for a story exploring the post-game after RE:8. Like, you can't tell me that there isn't a hurt/comfort narrative crossed over with an identity crisis, what makes a human human, and how knowing what he is impacts his experiences going forward.

Also, Ethan deserved a mutated form. He deserved to go berserk during one of the final fights, growing claws and fangs and tendrils and the like. He deserved to become a monster, to fight monsters, to save his baby girl.
