I had to tell myself “stop ogling the beautiful priest this is a funeral” a couple times today.
would never want to be a popular artist ever actually thw idea of my work being seen by large masses makes me want to scrub my account clean deactivate it and then get my GED and get a job and remove my identity from the internet
gets good enough at drawing the OCs to have solid refs for commissions VS "well at this point i can just draw this myself" FIGHT!!

"i call myself a painter. what i can do is paint and make things that are powerful. galleries want to codify you. every time you move away from the doctrine, you get questioned. being unruly is my nature. as for doctrinaire, i had to blow it up" ... mary lovelace o'neal
"play hot pepper, thelonious monk charlie parker and all that junk" ... bob dylan
"sometimes it's to your advantage for people to think you're crazy" ... thelonious monk

jack butler yeats -- "the poetic morning" (1945)
"a painter must be part of the land and of the life he paints" ... jack butler yeats
"in the film that doesn’t begin and never ends, a man wakes, drives to a country farmhouse where he finds the guests he knows from his recurring dream ..." ... daniel tobin
"when i had laid it on the floor i went to blow the fire a-flame, but something rustled on the floor, and someone called me by my name: it had become a glimmering girl with apple blossom in her hair who called me by my name and ran and faded through the brightening air" ... w.b. yeats
"can’t you hear that rooster crowin’? rabbit runnin’ down across the road underneath the bridge where the water flowed through so happy just to see you smile underneath the sky of blue" ... bob dylan
"all that is, is, is spinning on a pencil point" ... daniel tobin
"though i am old with wandering through hollow lands and hilly lands, i will find out where she has gone, and kiss her lips and take her hands; and walk among long dappled grass, and pluck till time and times are done, the silver apples of the moon, the golden apples of the sun" ... w.b. yeats
"al that is, is ... coveting your steak ... while endlessly chomping down my enormous, distasteful fish the portion never dwindling" ... al janik [in great debt here to my friend daniel tobin]
