William James (1842 – 1910) was an American philosopher, historian, and psychologist. He was the first educator to offer the study of psychology in it's own right as a subject in the USA. William James is considered to be one of the leading thinkers of the late 19th century, one of the most influential philosophers of the United States, and ''the Father of American psychology''.
