Did I make a sue
Okay so I’m just now discovering what an OC is this is a character that I’ve imagined in my head as I watched fairy tail along with another one. Mederi ain’t with that Sue stuff so please do all the critiquing you can & if you desire to throw shade please go ahead it’ll make it fun to read!
Name: Mederi Kosem
A little too close to Meredy for my liking, but that’s just a nitpick.
Age: 59
Appearance: Mederi is a red/caramel colored woman with long straight blonde hair which reaches behind her knees, she has one curly strand of hair at each end of her face and, she has green almond shaped eyes with black double winged eyeliner. Mederi has a petite, pointy nose & small perky lips which she accompanied with red matte lip stick. As for aging Mederi looks about 35 years old which she gives thanks to her magic for. She is 6'0" tall & holds a curvy and muscular body. Mederi’s fighting attire include a golden headpiece, (bear with me) and a lavender top which has two pieces which meet at her neck, open down her cleavage to belly button & then is ended with a belt that is studded with several jewels such as opals, ambers, diamonds, rubies and tourmalines. Attached to her belt is a bamboo katana in which she made herself. The shoulders of her outfit have pads which are also covered with lavender leather & she has a golden piece which covered her cleavage. Mederi wears a pair of lavender & green outlined leather gloves which a long but are not very close to her elbows, and even appear oversized. Below her belt, Mederi’s top turns into shorts which are you guessed it LAVENDER and reach above her mid thigh. Finally, Mederi wears long high heels lavender leather boots which go above her knees. When not fighting Mederi wears a large beige, white or black draped clothing which reaches her shoes & even trains behind her on the ground. She covers her hair with a veil of the three colors & keeps her hair in 3 loose buns under it.
I like how thorough you are with her clothing description. However, is this the clothes she wore while she was living in the forest?? Because high-heeled boots do not seem practical for forest life. Otherwise this is pretty good.
Weapon/Item: bamboo katana
Magic: Okay so here’s a backstory when I first started watching fairy tail before this little girl Wendy came up I just knew that my character would be a plant mommy magician (or in normal language a sub of plant magic) that could use the characteristics of certain plants such as aloe vera to heal fire magic but seeing that’d take away from Wendy’s relevance a little I decided that she could do that but he completely drains her of her magic and puts her in a vegetable (hehe) like state for hours or even days depending on how bad of a state the person she healed was in.
Aside from healing abilities she can do change into plants & become tree monsters & stuff like that & throw magical seed bombs at people and summons gusts of poisonous leaves (that make you itch) which drain magic power from her target the more they scratch at themselves.
Yassss bitch yasssss! I love earth magics and life magics and greenwitchery seems like a perfect route to go that hasn’t been trod a hundred times before! However, how are her magical reserves? How much does it take out of her to cast her spells? How long can she go for consistently keeping a form or holding a spell until she gives? Important questions to consider. I like the scratching-magic-draining bit though.
Flexibility: normal
Strength: good she isn’t extremely muscular but she is muscular
Speed: she is not fast and relies on sprouting plants from the ground to get her out of harms way
Nice. I like how she’s obviously not a glass cannon mage, but a lot more rooted. PLANT PUNS HA
Notorious spells: Plant mimicking (taking the form of plants and also using these plants abilities for magical purposes)
Seed bombs
Plant manipulation (what’s the extent of her plant manipulation? How far does her range extend? What are the conditions of her manipulation? How can she affect a plant?)
Different herbs and leaves properties to hurt opponents for ex. Poison ivy leaves that take magic energy the more an opponent scratches
Vine shelter (she protects herself in hard magic vines, this the only form of her magic that cannot be burned)
Tree monster (turns into a large tree & her branches have claws & her opponent’s attacks have less effect.)
A little more detail on this form would be sweet. Length of time she can hold the form, size of the tree (is it flexible or does she have a set form?) speed and strength of the form, etc etc.

Fairy Tail
Team: no team, when I first started watching the show way back then I would always pretend she was on missions with Natsu & the gang but then Wendy came in & ruined my fantasies so I guess she goes on missions alone & only sometimes aids some of the members if they request her help.
History: Mederi is the daughter of a rejected wife of the King of a conservative nation that is strictly against magic and lived in a harsh a famine. This nations name will be Udo because I don’t want to keep calling it nation. Udo was originally a fertile nation but due to a drought it went into famine. Mederi’s mother was the second wife and true love of Udo’s King but was rejected because she was not the true queen. Mederi spent her childhood being teased by children who didn’t believe her father was really the King & living in poverty with her mother. When she got into her pre teens, Mederi befriended a group of older boys in her village performing plant type magic, growing crops for their family. She would go home and spend hours in her living room trying to do the stances that the boys were doing, so that she could perform the magic also and her mother just assumed she was dancing.
Later in her pre teen years the queen of Udo past away and Mederi & her mother were forced to live in the kingdom with her father. Mederi did not like having to live with a man who denied her existence and was the reason for her bullying so she purposely treated her father badly, but only the feel even more rejected he didn’t even notice. Mederi found books in her father’s library that taught of how to spot wizards & how to capture them and it spoke of the different types of magic. She used these books to teach herself the basics of her plant magic which was growing plants & manipulating them. When Mederi was a teen she met back up with the older boys she befriended and she enlightened them on how much more they could all do with their magic, they all agreed that they wouldn’t be able to explore these wonders without a teacher & came up with a plan to overthrow the kingdom. With no one in the kingdom able to perform magic the stop them Mederi and the secret village wizards betrayed the nation by attacking & stealing its wealth which they would use to pay for a teacher who could show them more. They were able to escape Udo with jewels & precious metals & were actually extremely confused when they left their homes because they had no idea how widely used magic was used in other nations.
The closest place to Udo was Fiore, and there they stole books which taught of their magic. Mederi in expressed her desire to join a magic guild to her friends & at 19 she joined Mermaid Heel. It was hard for Udo’s King to get anybody to get the wealth that was stolen for him back because he had nothing to pay but when she joined a magic guild (which brought disgrace to his name) he promised any guild that could capture Mederi that they could have all the riches that she’d stolen. Mederi had no idea that this warrant was out for her & she enjoyed guild life, she discovered during missions & battles that she had the power the heal with her magic & do more. She became notorious for being the sassy on again off again interguild girlfriend of Goldmine that was still mastering her plant magic. Slowly things started going downhill for Mederi when people started stalking and attacking her & she found out that it was her father’s doing. She ended up quitting Mermaid Heel and when her guild mates fought on this she threatened to destroy the guild hall. Mederi left Fiore & began living in a forest where she learned how use her magic to shapeshifter into plants and came up with her own form of martial arts, and creating her own bamboo weapons. Mederi was convinced that it wasn’t in human nature to want happiness for others so she kept herself there from when she 25-52.
When Mederi was 52 (her father now long dead & she ended up becoming a talked about wizard her went of the far end) Natsu Dragneel who became was on some sort of mission with Lucy & Happy actually ended up burning her forest down. Mederi was extremely furious and actually ended up attacking the group, many of her attacks being useless against Natsu because he could burn her plants but she convinced him to fight him without magic & had the upper hand until she saw his fairy tail marking. She then demanded to know who the guild master was and then rushed to Fiore to confront Makarov (her old friend) with Natsu’s reckless behavior. Makarov laughed at how her short temper hadn’t change & she angrily threw him around the Guild while he laughed and introduced her to everybody while they were very confused (yes that’s weird but it sounds like it’s happen on fairy tail wouldn’t it? Lmao).
Nice meeting, but I feel like Mederi should be a lot more pissed off. Burning down an entire forest, especially if it was a taiga forest, is a huge no-no and terrible for the wood and everyone involved, not a matter taken lightly. And even if Mederi can regrow the trees quickly, that still doesn’t make up for the doubtless countless animal lives lost, and probably a ton of indigenous species of flora and fauna burned into extinction in that area. I feel like there should be a lot more of Makarov apologising profusely for his idiot mage and trying to fix the damage caused. And Natsu getting the cold shoulder from Mederi for a long time.
When Mederi calmed down Makarov caught up with her & she told him why she left working as a Mage and how much she missed it even though she grew not to miss people. Mederi began regularly visiting Makarov and after softening her heart she became a Mage again. (She joins in between the Daybreak & Lullaby Arc) She went to Tenrou island with the Tenrou island group because Makorav offers it to be her new home some day when she leaves maging for good, so she wants to check it out. During her battle with Azuma she turns into a giant tree to attack him but he end ups manipulating her since she was in tree form and hurt her very badly, she was alongside the weak & injured.
Personality: Mederi speaks with archaic English language using words like thou, thee, thy, dost, ending words with eth etc. She is very blunt & can be hard on those she cares about, often making guild members cry at the things she says. Mederi has not really forgiven herself for leaving her mother behind after she betrayed the kingdom and she wishes that she hadn’t been so reckless back in those days. She is very against disorderly conduct in the guild, in fact she always tries to intervene between fights in the guild by hitting Natsu (or whoever else starts it) in the head with bamboo but that usually gets them going. Mederi is a strict vegan & gets extremely nauseous when people eat meat around her. She holds minor grudges towards people as she has held one against Goldmine all these years even though she’s the one who left him so that she could live in the forest. Although she never really smiles & has a hard wall up Mederi has a big heart and would love to be able to protect the guild members and she is secretly flattered when the older guild members flirt with her although she cuts them unamused facial expressions. She is very hot tempered which other characters find comedy in. Mederi can be rough when she feels her complaints are being ignored.
With enemies Mederi can be frighteningly manipulative & extremely harsh in battle although now that she is in fairy tail she takes more jobs where the customer has health problems.
Makaro: Makarov knew Mederi back when her & Goldmine were together, he always laughed at her anger & still does now. Sometimes he asks her to go on missions & help protect the children.
Quick question: who’s Goldmine?? Also, more elaboration on old people friendship pls.
Natsu & Happy: Natsu & Happy are always playing pranks on Mederi which she always returns with insults that hurt Happy’s feelings then assaulting them both with sugar cane or bamboo.
Like I mentioned earlier - feel like there should be a loooooot more of Mederi being really fucking pissed off and holding a grudge. BURNING DOWN FORESTS IS VERY GODDAMN BAD NATSU.
Older men of fairy tail: the adult men of fairy tail are always flirting with Mederi & always replies to telling them how older she really is than them although it makes her blush.
Ezra: Before Wendy came Mederi would aid Erza on S-Class missions
The rest of fairy tail: Mederi has no very unique relationship with the rest of the guild although her relationships with everyone else are not bad she is known she say things that make the members of the guild cry even Elfman who says that a “not even a real man can play with the sword that is Mederi’s tongue & not get stabbed”
All in all, a pretty damn well thought out OC!! I love the fact that she’s an old lady and adult and not another teenager. Love the crotchety old lady side of her, and the young rebellious youth portion of her backstory. What a badass, damn. I hope you take my comments into consideration and edit her however you see fit :)
