Summer Daydream
Poem by Chicken
A/N: Based off a painting called Summer Daydream by Adolf Sehring
Oh what is a summer without the sun
Oh what is a summer without the fun
Oh what is a summer without the wind
Oh what is a summer without a friend
Oh a friend
Oh a friend
I hardly knew thee
I lie in wait in a lonesome barn
I leave her while she's crochets her yarn
That dreadful witch i call my mother
"You should study during the summer!"
I call false
I call fake
She is nothing but a garden snake
But alas i shall hold my daisies
And lean against the tall and shady
Dreadful Barn, of all the places
While i seek out the miniscule traces
Of a dear companion to be by my side
But my conscience seems to rock like the tide
In and out
In and out
In and out
If i were to fall asleep, i would have no doubt
That the friend i seeking would be here waiting
So i shall go there is no debating
Oh what is a summer without the sun
Oh what is a summer without the fun
Oh what is a summer without the wind
Oh what is a summer without a friend
