I want to attempt to write something, and since this AU is something that I keep thinking about, I figured maybe this could be fun. The only one I can't really write for yet is Tear because I haven't finished TotK. And while I can write for the Four Swords Heroes and Shadow, I don't think I will just yet.
Who should I write a drabble about next for my Shattered Light AU?
I guess the names do make sense! Dei especially is really cool. I'd love to get a more detailed description of your Links, how they're different and what they're like. If that's too much, though, I'd like to know specifically more about Leo and Tear!
(also, have you read any of Four More Champions by Zarvasace on AO3? It's a Four Swords Breath of the Wild crossover, and their version of Vio is named Vari, too, after.... uh.... *looks it up* Variolite, the rock. It's neat that you both came up with the same name in different ways!)

I'm a huge fan of Zarvasace's work, and even tho I've read that series, I completely forgot that version of Vio's name XD Great minds think alike I guess.
I'm glad you think Dei is cool, and I'm starting to like him myself as I figure him out more ^u^
I'd be down for describing the characters at length eventually, but I have a feeling I'll run out of room on this post, so feel free to poke me again later on if you'd like. I have yet to finish Tears of the Kingdom, and I'm still trying to avoid posting spoilers for at least a little bit longer, so I'll have to talk about Tear later on. Leo, on the other hand ^u^
So, he's the Link from that manga that's in the Hyrule Historia book. I know most people call him First since he's the first hero, but for some reason my brain latched onto the idea of him being like a lion. Not necessarily the animal, but embodying courage and stuff like that. Leo just came from the constellation. Anyway! Background!
In the manga, he dies after fighting Demise and Hylia was too late to save him. Well, I'm changing that a bit and saying that instead, he barely survived and was only able to watch as the Hylians were put into the sky on what would become Skyloft. He got left behind and not even Hylia cared to save him in the end. He fought Demise and managed to get him to where the Sealed Grounds would be so that he could be sealed in place by Hylia. She left after that, leaving Leo to tend to his wounds alone. He is bitter toward her because of that, yet still respects her because of her status as a goddess.
His wounds never fully recovered because of the amount of Malice poured into all of Demise's blows, so he has a lot of scarring burned black into his skin. At the beginning of the Links meeting up for the first time, he sees them near a statue of the goddess that he was leaning against only a day or so after his battle with Demise.
Leo is 30 and somewhat jaded after everything he's been through, but he still finds it fun to mess with the younger heroes. He isn't completely serious, but he tends to be more mature.
I'll have to see if I can draw out these characters at some point, especially because I ended up adding three more to the list XD
[Here's that little snippet about Leo that I promised. And look! Here's Lin and Nimbus, too! Hope you enjoy ^u^]
No warnings for this one besides maybe some brief mention of scars, I guess.
“Hey, Leo, I was curious about something.”
Leo made a questioning noise as he looked up from cleaning and sharpening his sword, looking up to see Nimbus fidgeting with the hem of his tunic and Lin standing at attention beside him, blank-faced as usual.
“Well, you have my attention now. Feel free to ask your question,” Leo smiled gently, moving his task to the side and watching the two heroes as they collected themselves.
“Oh, well, um….” Nimbus trailed off, radiating nervousness as he desperately looked to Lin for help.
“We were both curious about why you always seem to keep your armor on. Even when we set up camp, you rarely remove your bracers or boots, let alone roll up your sleeves to help with dishes or laundry.”
Leo felt his smile drop like a stone, quickly trying to ease the two’s nerves by putting a convincing smile back on his face. The three of them had been together for a while now, long enough at least for them to somewhat lower their guard around him. He knew that Nimbus still felt inadequate compared to him no matter how much Leo tried to change his mind and that Lin still felt that he had to be formal and like a proper soldier around him even if Leo tried to show that he wasn’t a commanding officer. He slowly got to his feet, observing their reactions.
“To put it simply, I suppose, I don’t want to burden you or any of the others with the mistakes I’ve made in the past. While I don’t regret what I’ve done, I don’t enjoy the reminders of my failings.”
Lin nodded stiffly, seeming satisfied despite his impassive expression. Nimbus, however, looked unconvinced.
“Was there anything else you two needed from me?”
“Nothing. Thank you for indulging our curiosity.” Lin spoke, then turned on his heel and returned to where they had set up camp.
Once Lin had left, Nimbus shook his head and stared at Leo.
“You mentioned failings, but how can that be? You’re hailed as a hero where I’m from, as the one who originally ended the Demon King’s reign.”
Leo chuckled, though it sounded hollow to his ears. He shook his head, walked toward Nimbus, and placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Everyone makes mistakes, Nim. It’s just a fact of life. Even though you say I’m hailed as a hero, I can promise you that all history passed down through time rarely tells the whole story.”
“If that’s so, then will you ever tell us the whole story?”
“Maybe someday.”
Nimbus nodded, though the hero still looked displeased. Leo watched as he returned to where he had been sitting, picking up the small sculpture he had been carving out of wood. Leo sighed, sitting back down to finish his work until the sun finally set. He could feel his wrists and ankles burn with the phantom pain of shackles, but he ignored them as much as he could. Just like he did every day.
-Tear doesn't particularly like Altear the first time they meet. Altear is everything that Tear lost after he was killed by the Guardians. Altear still has the Champions, still has his family, and seems so much happier for it. Tear feels like Altear is the personification of all of his mistakes. Eventually, they will get along, but it's a very long road until then.
-Storm doesn't realize Steam is related to him until it's pointed out to him, and when that happens, Storm makes it a point to treat him like a younger sibling. Endless teasing, pranking, and messing around. Steam loves it, especially since he doesn't have any siblings of his own. Even if it is a little weird for his great-grandma's brother to act like his sibling instead of like an adult.
-Lin initially didn't want to be a soldier or part of the Hyrulean army. He's always wanted to study the history of Hyrule, but when his family fell into hard times and couldn't support him going to study, he joined the army to get money for his family. In his free time, he would spend hours in the Royal Library just reading about the kingdom's history. Because of this, he knows most of the other heroes immediately, with the only exceptions being Leo, Tear, Altear, and Tempo.
Until I am able to consistently write and also consistently sleep after Tears of the Kingdom ruined my sleep schedule, I'll post little things every Wednesday. If there are any specific headcanons y'all want to see, feel free to ask.
I've also been messing around with my own take on a Link's meet AU that I think I'll call A Shattered Light, or Shattered Light. So, if y'all want to ask about that, I have a few things written about those characters, just no fics yet. And hey, maybe I'll have an excuse to try drawing the characters eventually.
Just FYI I added panic disorder to Clint so i have a bit more to work with for him
