Meet the Ancient Hero, without the Aspect. The lone son of the Gerudo, left in the depths since he was born to avoid what being a Gerudo male after the rise of Ganondorf would entail in the surface world. But when the first calamity began to show signs of rising, he climbed back up, into the light.

And considering the aspect is symbolized by the three zonai animal gods on the zonaite waisteguard, it's fair to assume that could be the 'aspect' that transforms a Hyrulean to... this form. Hinting that its true origin is ancient Zonai, but the hero and the form itself isn't.

I mean, this wouldn't be the first time an item, when equipped, would transform the hero into a different form that he uses based on the situation. So in the depths, in the pitch black, he would need a form that is adapted to the darkness, one he has spent his whole life in.

Ravio, AKA Mist, Wind’s Lorulean counterpart, and the King of Green Serpents pre-ABoM’s main fic!

(The balloon itself is inanimate, but a certain spirit does occasionally use it as a vessel…)

This was a quick doodled comic page I made using the balloon’s concept art. Mist’s yellow scarf/cape thing is actually an unwrapped hood. It’s down both to better show his face and to mimic the scarves old timey pilots are often depicted in.

I haven’t been able to work on the ABoM AU much recently due to physical and mental health reasons, but I wanted to make and post something. I guess this gives you a sneak peek of Mist’s era in the meantime!
