Cutie Pie ep 8
Well...after my drama mid-week about maybe not being able to watch ep 8 because of the 18+ rating...it was all fine in the end 😂
But honestly...part 1 was a little too much for me to watch. I had to avert my eyes several times with the running commentary: 'ok, that's enough...please stop now...I don't need to see more...I get the picture...I can use my imagination...nope they're still going...eeek!...' I'm fine when I watch these kinds of scenes the second time round - because I know what's going to happen and how far they go - but the first time feels awkward because it's just so intimate...and at the end of the day they're just actors...
Anyway, despite that, IT WAS SO GOOD! I appreciated the commitment and conviction they both had to the kissing and...well...everything. (This is what Leo and Fiat should have given us but the actors just came across as nervous or uncomfortable...but I'm not here to talk about Don't Say No [ironically, they both used the same bedroom 👀]).
I also really appreciated the conversation Kuea and Lian had before the action - it's what I've been needing - but, like someone else has already said, I didn't feel Lian's answers were really satisfactory, especially around why he said he didn't love Kuea. But THE CONSENT!! So good and so important 👏🏼
But on to Diao and Yi...and FINALLY Diao is standing up for himself and brushing off Yi. Now, hopefully, Yi will grow a spine and tell Diao what he needs to hear. Getting frustrated with him a little. Nice that Lian is also calling him out.
And Nuer and Syn - so freaking adorable. I love these two and I think they're going to be kings of communication and show up the other two couples. Here's hoping at least.
And for the mystery...I'm using Poppy Foei as the show's moral compass - we've seen how supportive he's been of Lian and Kuea, and that he can't hide his reactions and expressions sometimes, so I think if he hasn't given any indication that Lian is doing something shady then I think we can trust that it's all in Kuea's best interest. And so I think Lian was talking to Kuea's mother about the transfer of deeds. I think it's all honest and above board and will just again be proof that healthy communication is necessary in a relationship - i.e. Lian just needs to tell Kuea what's going on...and when he doesn't (because this is Lian we are talking about) Kuea is going to get upset and we'll have our penultimate ep angst...until they realise they need to talk and be honest and then everything will end happily ever after.
