So, in conclusiom:
Yi is a moron who can't fucking talk so he solves his problems with gifts
Diao is a smol bean who deserves better and to always be surrounded by dogs
Kuea's happy bubble is going to crash down
Lian should really take his own advice and not leave things unresolved, not let Kuea hear about the whole business from someone else
Nuer needs to get his shit together and leave Kuea alone and figure out who he has feelings for
Syn deserves better than to be a second choice
We need more of Jay and Foei. Correct my spelling, I can't fuckig talk.
I wanna break the arm of the one who talked to Diao over the phone. Such manipulative and evil imbecile.
Is there anything else?
After rewatching eps 1&2, I gotta say, I'm hella curious about the nature of Diao and Yi's relationship. Yi calls where Diao lives "home", but he also has a condo that he apparently spends a lot of time at for some reason. So why does Diao live at Yi's "home" and not his condo? How did that arrangement come about? What are they to each other? The only times we've seen them interact, Yi has just been stern(though he did seem quite easily broken by Diao's tears) and not at all physically affectionate. Not that I'm one to kink shame--if that's what does it for them, fine. I just want to see how their relationship began and developed. I want to know how they got to be whatever they are to each other.

Prompt from Dragonfly_XX: But my prompt would be anything about Yi & Diao from CUTIE PIE that contains a badass protective boyfriend/husband Yi! Merciiii:*
Cutie Pie ep 8
Well...after my drama mid-week about maybe not being able to watch ep 8 because of the 18+ rating...it was all fine in the end 😂
But honestly...part 1 was a little too much for me to watch. I had to avert my eyes several times with the running commentary: 'ok, that's enough...please stop now...I don't need to see more...I get the picture...I can use my imagination...nope they're still going...eeek!...' I'm fine when I watch these kinds of scenes the second time round - because I know what's going to happen and how far they go - but the first time feels awkward because it's just so intimate...and at the end of the day they're just actors...
Anyway, despite that, IT WAS SO GOOD! I appreciated the commitment and conviction they both had to the kissing and...well...everything. (This is what Leo and Fiat should have given us but the actors just came across as nervous or uncomfortable...but I'm not here to talk about Don't Say No [ironically, they both used the same bedroom 👀]).
I also really appreciated the conversation Kuea and Lian had before the action - it's what I've been needing - but, like someone else has already said, I didn't feel Lian's answers were really satisfactory, especially around why he said he didn't love Kuea. But THE CONSENT!! So good and so important 👏🏼
But on to Diao and Yi...and FINALLY Diao is standing up for himself and brushing off Yi. Now, hopefully, Yi will grow a spine and tell Diao what he needs to hear. Getting frustrated with him a little. Nice that Lian is also calling him out.
And Nuer and Syn - so freaking adorable. I love these two and I think they're going to be kings of communication and show up the other two couples. Here's hoping at least.
And for the mystery...I'm using Poppy Foei as the show's moral compass - we've seen how supportive he's been of Lian and Kuea, and that he can't hide his reactions and expressions sometimes, so I think if he hasn't given any indication that Lian is doing something shady then I think we can trust that it's all in Kuea's best interest. And so I think Lian was talking to Kuea's mother about the transfer of deeds. I think it's all honest and above board and will just again be proof that healthy communication is necessary in a relationship - i.e. Lian just needs to tell Kuea what's going on...and when he doesn't (because this is Lian we are talking about) Kuea is going to get upset and we'll have our penultimate ep angst...until they realise they need to talk and be honest and then everything will end happily ever after.
“I’ve caused you so much pain.”

I love Diao and the fact that he's being straightforward with how he views everything finally. Now if only he'd managed that before this all went down... maybe something could have changed first. But, I mean, Yi is definitely not any better.
Says the dude with amnesia who thinks Diao is seven years old. Though I suppose the idea that Yi has not matured or changed since that point in time might be accurate.
That face. How long has it been since Yi said he loved him? How long has it been since Diao believed he meant it? And how can it feel to realize someone might have only ever loved you because their father told them to, a duty and an instruction?
I bet he did.
This was an uneeded lie, my dude. But I also understand it because it's not exactly a lie. It's only kind of a lie, I suppose, depending on your point of view.
And then the whole conversation about Yi regretting if he ever disappointed him or let him down and the way Diao was just barely holding himself together because he was finally leaving this relationship, finally finding his own peace, and now he's back and he really, truly, can't go anywhere.
To face the idea of being forgotten by the person you love even after they've betrayed you but while you still love them and were hoping to find a way back to the love they had.
(On top of this he's finding out about his own childhood at the same time and learning facts about both of that he never knew.)
