Family Fun | Abbi & Andre

Andre was pleasantly surprised at how well Milo had done for his first international flight. Although flying on a private aircraft where Milo could toddle about whenever he didn’t have to be seated on his booster and fastened in. For the 15 hour flight, Andre traded off with Abbi on keeping a close eye on their son and entertaining him while the other could relax more or even nap.

When the family of three landed in Nice, France, the sun hadn’t yet risen, but Andre knew by the time they reached Monte Carlo, the sun would be turning the sky shades of pinks and oranges. While loading their luggage into the rental car, Andre looked over to Abbi noticed Milo beginning to doze off and cast the small boy a sympathetic smile, knowing the time difference would throw him off for a bit. He turned his smile to Abbi and asked, “Do you think we should let him get some rest at the hotel before we go over to my parent’s? Everyone will be especially excited to see him once we go over there.” His parents had offered for them to stay with them--the space was certainly more than accommodating--but Andre figured the three of them in their own space while they were in Monte Carlo would be best. It certainly didn’t hurt that Reyes Group owned two hotels in close proximity of his parent’s home.

Where the Pets Go | Abbi & Dante

@abbizimms​ Dante had both Raven and his new puppy, Misty on harnesses and leashes as he headed into Petco. Until now, Dante had been using some of Raven’s old accessories and some improvised items around his house that weren’t boxed up, to get Misty through the weekend. Now that the celebrations had settled down, however, he was able to get her properly set up. He’d written down a list so not to forget anything and had it pinched between his fingers as he maneuvered the cart, his large mastiff and hyper pitsky pup past the display of rodents and towards the bags of dog food. Unfortunately, he’d dropped the the list and in his efforts to pick it back up, he’d accidentally lost his hold on Misty’s leash and the little puppy took off running in a somewhat bunny-like manner.

“Misty--Misty!” Dante called out, leaving the cart behind in a hurried effort to go after the energetic dog. “C’mon, Raven!” he hissed, picking up his pace as Misty darted down the aisle full of cat and kitten items.

Ohana | Abbi & Andre

Getting to celebrate with their family was the only thing that could have made Milo’s adoption day perfect. And thankfully, his parents, cousin and brother, along with Abbi’s family, had been there. The small courtroom was filled with their family and close friends that Friday morning, and then, seemingly, just as many of them had arrived at their home the next afternoon. Unfortunately, the guest of honor had gone to sleep for his afternoon nap by the time the party was in full swing. Andre carried him up to his and Abbi’s room and laid him down in his bassinet. While up there, he picked something up from his nightstand drawer and stick it in his pocket. On his way back down to the party, however, he spotted his wife and smiled.

Approaching her from behind, Andre slipped his arms around her waist and dropped a kiss on her cheek, whispering what they both already knew for more than half a day now, “We’re parents. Officially.” While leaving one arm around her, Andre asked her, “Take a quick walk outside with me? We’ll be back before anyone can miss us.”

Yours, Mine & Ours | Abbi & Andre

Andre was finishing up his last meeting for the day--a virtual board meeting with his new interim President, as well as companies that Reyes Group had been working with. After finishing and leaving the meeting, Andre let out a sigh and ran a hand down his face. The tension with his new colleague was new and already tiresome. It felt like ever since Paul was appointed, Andre found himself puzzled as to what his parents had seen in the man. Supposedly, he was qualified and something about his demeanor appealed enough for his parents to hire him for the interim position. Yet seemingly, he and Andre were clashing at nearly every turn.

Thankful for his work day being over, Andre saved and closed all of his tabs, and then shut down his computer, heading upstairs with the baby monitor in his hand. Mere moments after making his way upstairs, he received a phone call and picked up upon seeing the caller ID. A smile quickly came to his face and the second the phone call ended, Andre got back on the phone to call his wife while picking up his pace to check on Milo.

“Abbi,” he said the moment he got an answer. His voice was low but full of excitement. “Are you close to being home? I just received our exciting and long-awaited news.”

Andre had offered to drive he and Abbi to Legacy Hospital where they would be fulfilling their volunteer time for Phase 3 of Matched. As he switched gears in the Corvette and arrived to Legacy Hospital, he said, “So we’ve just got to attend the orientation and then, I think we’ll get started from there.” He cast a light smile in Abbi’s direction before fixing his gaze back out of the window, “How are you feeling about this?”

A New Day | Abbi & Andre

Andre quietly stirred awake after an enjoyable and then well-rested night before. He and Abbi had been getting to know each other fairly well on an emotional and mental level, conversing with one another, understanding each other’s personalities and interests. Lately, however, their knowledge of one another had grown to a physical level. To say he enjoyed this new form of connecting was a bit of an understatement; Andre loved that he had an ease around Abbi whether they were talking over dinner, cuddling on the couch during a movie, or walking about the estate together. But physical intimacy made his forming love for her bloom in a different way.

As he reached up to rub the sleep from his eyes, he turned his head to watch Abbi sleep for a bit, smiling softly at the sight of her slumbering form. He leaned over and pressed a feather-light kiss to her temple before rolling out of bed as quietly as possible. He made his way to the bathroom to brush his teeth and splash a little water on his face, and then padded out of the room to start brewing some coffee for the two of them. While he waited for the coffee to brew, he debated fixing them breakfast or ordering something to be delivered; he saw Bagheera napping on the kitchen’s window sill and shook his head. Reaching up, Andre stroked the length of the kitten’s body to wake him and then picked him up. “You know you’re not supposed to be up there, little rascal.” He scratched the young cat’s head and set him to his feet on the floor before reaching to an above cabinet to take a pair of mugs down. His mind was certainly leaning towards a lazy day and with that, ordering them breakfast that morning.

Part of It All | Abbi & Andre

The time in Monaco had been a hectic near-two weeks, but with his father now on the mend and his recent change in position, Andre felt comfortable enough to talk about he and Abbi returning back to Portland. Not only had it been a whirlwind of the past few weeks but he knew that the new school year would be starting back in the States soon.

Hoping to give some time to decompress before the trip home, Andre suggested a walk and drove the two of them closer to the coast. He knew that his talk that morning with his parents would need to be brought up as well, but Andre intended to make the change as stress-free for his wife as he possibly could. He’d been tired and the spike in stress from the news about his father, followed by a slow but steady calm from him being discharge from the hospital, only to be told about his new interim CEO status had him certain that he would be doing his best to sleep for the majority of the flight home, if possible.

After parking, he offered his hand to Abbi to lead her to the beach. “I figured the trip didn’t have to be entirely surrounded by crisis, and it might be nice to go somewhere calming before we make our plans to go home. This is one of my favorite places to go to.“
