“New Gala skirt just arrived for Harriet Jones....
Would love for her to stay! Or take over as principal again! But have not others also got new costumes and then still left? @operafantomet
Sure, it’s happened both in West End and elsehwhere. But usually we’re talking a costume or three. Here they’ve actually made her a brand new wardrobe, like, they’ve replaced basically every single costume: a new Elissa skirt, a new Rooftop costume, new Serafimo pants, new Serafimo skirt, new Serafimo blouse, new Wishing dress, new everything. That strikes me as an odd thing to do if she would be leaving in September/October.
I don’t think I’ve seen a brand new Christine wardrobe being made on this scale since they made new stuff for Sandra Joseph on Broadway, for the “longest running” anniversary in 2006 and ditto new brochure. It’s rare they make new costumes for any Christine on Broadway (unless we’re talking Sierra Boggess), and it’s rare they make a new brochure too (unless we’re talking Sierra Boggess). So a brand new wardrobe for Sandra Joseph was pretty unique. Ironically she left shortly after. But that wasn’t planned in any way.
Tempted to make a photoset of Harriet Jones’ new costumes now :)
