@a-bitter-resentment : ❛ never trust a survivor until you learn what they did to stay alive. ❜
VARIOUS STARTERS
how bitter / the statement is like a warning ( one you choose to ignore ). you know of surviving / even at a young age , you chose to take a life to survive ( to provide / for a family ). you gave up your dreams / you burnt them all to ash with a candle , your own candlestick burning your wishes ( melting them & all you did was watch the fire burn brighter / until there was nothing to burn ).
you felt nothing / all it did was leave a hole in your chest.
a smirk / a sly mask. show the world that trademark toothy smile / show the world the sun radiating in your eyes ( golden eyes / the rising of the sun in the morning / show no fear ). hide away the burnt scars beneath your fur / hide away the ashes of your emotions you left in the wildfire of the war. there’s nothing left of you anymore / nothing real anyways.
you’re still trying to heal / another sunrise ( you tell yourself / maybe when the sun rises again / you’ll feel the warm light on your fur ).
❝ you could tell me anything & i’d probably still trust you. it’s just a gut feeling. ❞
