Which gunpla was your favorite? Most challenging? And most funniest? Do you have any costume gunpla? ((Sorry for all these questions))
Hmm. I have a few favorites, in no real order:
BB080 Shishi Gundam(just cause it’s #1!)
08th MS Team Gouf Custom (HG 1/144). Love the Gouf to start off with, the gattling shield and sword was just icing on the cake. It’s one that I’ll have to revisit. It fell off a shelf and broke the leg at the hip joint, and at the time I wasn’t able to repair it.
Guntank(HGUC, 1/144): This guy saved the Gundam hobby for me. I was getting a little burned out on building Gundam kits, so after picking him up it kind of reinvigorated my interest since it wasn’t a bipedal mecha.
BB Senshi 153 Daishogun Kirahagane Gokusai
For a SD kit, he’s almost as big as his name is long. He probably ranks in as my funnest, too. He’s a giant SD kit, that can transform into a full-scale gundam, and two base modes. I included a link to a photoset that I took after I finished it.
Most challenging, hmmm. Probably any I tried to paint following an exceptionally good project. I had an odd habit where I’d have one where it went together, paint goes down perfectly, all the stars aligned.
I’d follow up with another kit, and murphy’s law would kick in. Assembly would generally go fine, but when it came to painting it, it’d go wrong in every which way. While not a Gunpla, Kotobukiya’s Hoihoi-san kit’s head was pretty much nightmare fuel.
Hmm. I don’t have any Taaron custom builds, but if you consider using metallic paints in place of regular paints as custom, I guess you could say any I painted would be custom. :D
Have you built any gunpla from the 00 series?
Despite it being one of my favorite Gundam series, I only managed to get around to building the Union Flag.
I had loads of fun putting it together, but mine needed some glue in a few spots. I ended up losing bits n pieces over the years as I never had it and glue in the same area at the same time.
I should revisit it, when I get the funds.
