tl;dr in Japanese media, being a young lesbian is a) a perfectly normal platonic rehearsal for future wifehood and b) something you outgrow as an adult.
idk how they reconcile that with actual adult lesbians, but that's why you get stuff like YOU'RE MY VERY BEST FRIEND HOMURA-CHAN in every anime about middle/high school girls, ever.

But I have no friends who live anywhere near me, so I can't physically spend time with other human beings and this has been the situation for like 3 years now. It's been over 2 years since I spent any time with a friend in person and that sounds harsh but its the truth
