hey Christine, hope the bridal shower went well! When you wear false eyelashes for a show, how long do you reuse them before you get a fresh pair? do you put them on before or after eyeliner and mascara? also, do you have a favorite brand or style? thanks!!

I use them until they lose their shape, with the caveat that I clean them very thoroughly.  I have so many eye issues (seriously...  I don’t know what I did to deserve the plethora of eye issues, diseases, and injuries I’ve endured) so I am incredibly susceptible to eye infections.  That makes cleaning them an absolutely necessity.  I actually adore the Elf brand, and I like to go with ones that are lone and medium thickness.  I can’t really do heavy black lashes because of my fair skin tone, but on stage, medium thickness ones work fairly well for me!  I put mascara and eyeliner on first, lashes second.  :D

★What show would you love to see restaged? Oh gosh, probably The Sound of Music since the only adaptation of that was from the 80s and it’s not available on DVD. I was quite sad when I learned that.

What would you most like to see a Takarazuka adaption of?Interview with the Vampire. I think the Anjumirathon inspired me. So now I can think of nothing else but having a musical adaptation about 2 homoerotic vampires and their smol vampire child.

What do you hope there is never a Takarazuka adaption of?Uhh…Pocahontas?

☁What’s your favorite solo? Oh, gosh. There are so many, but it would have to be either “イカロスの夢” (Ikarosu no Yume) from Nijinsky or “My Dear Queen’s Diamond” from Lupin III. Which revue song always gets stuck in your head? GOGOGOLDENO SPARKUUUU! (Gold Spark! But also Apasionado!, Greatest Hits!, and Fancy Guy tend to randomly get in my head)What song do you skip?Since I’m not fond of it in the Austrian version, I tend to skip “病院” (the scene at the hospital that goes into “Nichts, nichts, gar nichts”) from Elisabeth a lot. I know the Zuka version treats the scene better but it’s still not my favorite thing to listen to.

☾: Do you prefer otokoyaku fashion or musumeyaku fashion? 

I like both for different reasons, but for myself I prefer otokoyaku fashion.  I’m super tall and would look ridiculous in those pretty elegant dresses musumeyaku wear.  I really want Kozuki Wataru’s fashion sense >_>

If you could put any five otokoyaku in a boy band together, who would you choose? 

I’d make a Hanagumi version of Aqua 5 or Kurenai 5: Hiryuu Tsukasa, Serika Toa, Houzuki An, Minami Maito, and Yuzuka Rei

Who are your three favorite musumeyaku? 

I’ll just go with current musumeyaku... it’d be really impossible for me to choose if I included OGs:

1. Maisaki Rin

2. Harune Aki

3. Himehana Yukino

hey Christine! I didn't see the musical Me and My Girl on your masterlist, do you think it would fall under golden age?

It is actually pre-golden age!  Technically golden age starts in 1943, and Me and My Girl opened in 1937.  But if an audition called for a golden age piece, it would be fine to pull from this show.

i was very offended by the extremely impractical design of the chaps tom was wearing that's why i remember

This just makes it even more of a tragedy that no one knows who has it because I’m pretty sure my roommate just wants to scream for 2 hours (it is one of his favorite musicals too but, you know....sometimes you just want to watch something you know will be ridiculous)

okay so

a) I have apparently misspelled it bc misleading kanjis but uiuishii/ 初々しい means ‘innocent/unsophisticated/new to things’

b) I’ve only encountered this word in press coverage of shinjin kouens, used ONLY for the musumeyaku lead

c) combined with the already rather condescending treatment musumeyaku under tend to get in shinko press it always seems very infantilizing

d) it’s also SUPER HARD TO MAKE WORK IN AN ENGLISH SENTENCE
