11 Thingies
Thanks to flaresandwisdom, you get to read 11 things about me.
Rule 1: Post the Rules. Rule 2: Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post then make 11 new ones. Rule 3: Tag 11 people and link them to your post. Rule 4: Let them know you’ve tagged them.
Q 1. If you could be one age again for a day, what age would you choose, and why?
Whatever age I was in 3rd/4th grade. Sometimes it would be nice to go back to a time before I felt betrayal for the first time, before I was too embarrassed to make a fool of myself for a boy, before I lost faith in what I had held to be true, before life got more complicated than timed tests.
Q 2. What was the last book that made you cry (if ever)?
I remember wanting to cry at Deathly Hallows, but never did muster a real tear. Before that...probably the last time I read Where the Red Fern Grows. Gets me every time.
Q 3. What did you want to be when you were going to grow up?
Oh, lots of stuff. A vet, until a kid's vet parent brought in a dog heart for the class to look at. (I had to be excused to the library because it made me too sad to think of my dog eventually being dead.) A librarian, which I don't think I've fully given up on. An author, which I have. An editor, but I decided I like proofreading better. I still haven't fully grown up yet, so I still have ideas sometimes.
Q 4. Describe a memory that you think back to when you want to feel warm and fuzzy.
Any moment where I didn't have anywhere to go, anything to do, and I could just lie snuggled up against my SO, listening to his heart in silence, his hand on my head. Those are the memories I will never let go of.
Q 5. What type of precipitation do you think best describes you?
Snrain. Or sleet, I think that might be the real name. Snow/rain mix! Very different, kind of confusing, sometimes light and fluffy, sometimes serious.
Q 6. Fantasy or Sci Fi, and why?
Sci-fi because Star Wars.
Q 7. Who was your first major crush (can include celebrities)?
This kid Jeff in my 3rd or 4th grade class. I thought he was just the coolest thing and would write him stupid little "anonymous" notes telling him how awesome I thought he was.
Q 8. If you had to lose one of your five senses, which would you lose and why?
I would want to keep touch (for fibers and knitting and love), sight (for knitting and people and dogs), taste (for foods!), smell (for foods and candles), and hearing (for things...). So out of them, the one I could maybe most stand to lose would be taste. Smell could help compensate for the loss of taste buds, and I'd rather keep the rest of my senses because it's with those more than anything that I enjoy my SO and life.
Q 9. Do you have any regrets about anything, if so, what are they?
Not eating breakfast!! I'm hungry....
Q 10. Coffee or tea, and why?
Coffeeeee. It's easier for me to make (though I'm getting better with tea) and I just really like the ambience I feel when I curl up with an aromatic mug of coffee.
Q 11. If time froze for the next six hours, what would you do in that time? Froze meaning it would be 3 pm for 6 hours, then resume normal ticking.
I would be thankful that I have 2 lunches in the fridge at work. I'd finish what I'm working on now, go home and finish packing for the weekend, come back to work and get some crap done that should be done this week but won't be done because of time. Tumbl for a while, complain that time has stopped, dance around the office, and then maybe take a nap. That would probably cover it.
OK followers. I only have a few of you, and I know we don't really know each other very well. But I like you, otherwise I wouldn't have followed you and you must like me a little bit or you wouldn't have followed me back! So here are 11 questions for you. If you want, go ahead and answer them! Should be fun, right? If you don't want to, that's OK too.
1. Did you have a safe place as a kid? Or maybe a secret fort? Where was it; what did you do there?
2. If there were only 1 food and 1 drink you could imbibe for the rest of your life, what would you prefer they be?
3. And if there were only 1 website you could use?
4. You're just won the lottery! Congratulations! What's the second thing you will do? The first, obviously, being roll around in a giant pile of cash laughing like a maniac.
5. What movie are you most looking forward to in 2013?
6. Who would win in a fight between President Obama and SHIELD Director Nick Fury? Please explain.
7. Favorite holiday movie and/or song?
8. One piece of legislation (in whatever country you live) you would like to see passed unanimously?
9. The zombies will be at your door in 30 minutes. Are you prepared?
10. Pick the color that best represents friendship: blue, gold, red, green, or white?
11. What's one thing you absolutely must do next year?
Thanks for playing :)
