Bring Me Peace
Do you know how many particles of iron are clawing through your blood on backs of bundled hemoglobin? I count them when I can’t sleep in silence for the gentle tingle your heartbeat sends through my palms each time the electric charge leaps from atrium to apex weaving delicately through beads of microscopic metal clinging to concave cells speeding endlessly through corridors and chambers just to keep you conscious while you sleep
I know each shard within your veins like the wanderlust lost know the distance to every star they will never reach I recite them to myself on my way to the place between rage and serenity only to find my strength pulsing in your veins Sometimes the temptation to grab hold of every drop swirling shimmering just beneath your skin like flecks of dust illumiated midair by the sunlight overwhelms the senses and I think I must catch a speck just one for my collection
I could take them all Every particle of every drop captivated in my concentration like the minds you wrap in whisps of gentle focus ignorant grains of sand shifting through your fingers unaware of the careful touch a single flash of thought on the heated brink of striking them to glass Mine could be the power to control every grain of you
None but my own internal grid of blood supplement keeps metalic temptation rippling at the surface and not boiling over in streams of molten iron to flood you free you feel you stretching my grasp into the thinnest corner of your peripheral vessels to let your blood consume me in my thirst for the gems floating within it
But though my own restless urges coax my outstretched arm to take its prize in the gleaming orbs my senses cannot ignore spiraling through your depths the pulse of your own energy entangled with your mind’s synapse spark is a work of evolutionary art no hand is fit to disrupt with a single touch
So rest your wearied mind Old Friend My touch remains softly tracing the gentle invitations of your heart
