"lucca" how do you feel about bentley coming back into nova and amelias life after you have been raising her as your own? does it bother you? what do you think his intentions are?

*raises eyebrows, laughing nervously* “At first it did bother me, but for different reasons. She’s my little girl. My Milliepede,” *clears his throat, frowning* “She is my daughter, just as Mila is my daughter and Max is my son. And it was hard for me to see her get excited about seeing him. It was hard to watch Nova and Millie walk out our front door to see him. Bentley.” *sighs, clasping his hands together* “But, he is her biological Father. I trust Nova and her instincts, if she felt like this wasn’t a good idea then she wouldn’t go through with it and if she’s okay with this then I had to learn to accept that and to support Nova with those decisions. As for his intentions,” *whistles* “So many things ran through my head in the beginning. Was he really here for Amelia? Or is it because Nova’s moved on, happy and glowing and thriving that drew him back in? Or was it just the thought that she’d moved on that got his attention? But I don’t think it’s that. I think that he just needed to grow up and accept that he had a hand, so to speak, in creating a tiny person. Some people need time to wrap their heads around that kind of responsibility and now he’s ready to try and be there. It doesn’t make it any less hard or painful though.”

Going Home!

The twins spent Monday night in hospital and it was an extremely eventful night. I didn’t really get much sleep but luckily I had the nurses on hand to help me out with nappy changes and changing in general. The twins woke every few hours for a feed, so I’d have on baby attached to one breast and another attached to the other one. It was exhausting! I definitely think I will be expressing regularly so that Sean and I can share feeding experiences and duties. Breastfeeding one newborn is pretty tiring so I think breastfeeding two is going to be absolutely exhausting, especially for the first few weeks.

In the morning the twins were monitored and I was checked over. The doctors told us, me and the twins were all good to go home. We were really pleased that we could head home and get them all settled in. I packed my bag and the twins bag then carefully strapped the girls into their car seats. Once they were all settled in their car seats we placed the car seats into the pram. Then we signed all of the relevant paperwork and thanked all of those who helped us bring the twins into the world. Then we made our way down to the car. Sean, bless him, looked like an old bag man. He was pulling my little suitcase, carrying his bag, my little bag and the girls bag.

At out car we put the girls car seats into the car then loaded up the boot. I climbed into the back with the twins and we headed on home. Once we got home we got the girls out of the car and took them inside. Harley came rushing over to us screaming ‘mummy! mummy!” My dad picked him up and carried him into the living room where we were headed.  In living room we took the girls out of their carriers and my parents indulged in cuddles galore.

When Milena, JJ and Evelyn got home they were delighted to see their baby sisters sleeping in their little double bassinet. They all needed to have lots of cuddles with their baby sisters.

Now two weeks on the girls are all settled in and are the apple of their big brother and sisters eyes. Harley still isn’t sure what to make of them though. I think he’s jealous of all the attention they’re getting. But he is slowly getting used to them.

On another note I can’t believe the twins are two weeks old already!
