Fortnite Headcanon #1238
The alarms were blaring. A.L.T.E.R knew...
Leg wasn't working, not sure if it was the meat or the metal, no time to question. Took one of their eyes. Good. Eye for an eye, Life for a life.
He trudged along the wall, surveying all the doors and corridors. Needed a terminal. Access to floor plans, movements, leverage... Cobalt's eyes glowed with malevolent fire as his heartbeat grew faster. Rage and adrenaline were driving his human side, powering his mechanical limbs to push forward. He knew what needed to be done.
He ducked into a nearby room, one that seemed more akin to a private suite. He didn't have time to think. Green everywhere, computer. Yes, computer. Access to the network made simpler now. Far simpler. Laptop made for portable access point. He would need that. He tried to access the computer but no use. Locked, Password containing several characters. He needed in, now. Footsteps getting closer, pistol nearby. Soldiers room. Cobalt grabbed the nearby pistol, aiming it at the door as a universal jack popped out of his palm. Access the computer, find a way out. The door opened as Cobalt found what he needed. Feeling in his leg was returning, systems finally restoring.
A woman; Green, angry, shouting something he couldn't hear. Only heartbeats. Heart pounding in ears when the first shot rings out. Second shot. Third Shot. The woman dives out of the way, not before taking a bullet to the shin. Bullet hit bone, more pain. Cobalt didn't know why that mattered. More footsteps, cries of pain and hatred rising over the pounding in his ears. Accessed floor plan. Vents above him. Cobalt looked up, grabbed the laptop, jumped from the table through the grate. Escape. Only thing that mattered now.
Damn the new island, damn this agency, damn that old man who had him strapped to the table. Cobalt's eyes burned red with hate. He would see them dead.
Crawling through the vents. He was thankful for the heat resistance of his armor. His face hurt. Burning. It wasn’t until now that he realized his face was missing something. Important. SOmething miSSING&*# MASK!
THEY HAD TAKEN HIS MASK, THEY HAD STRIPPED HIM OF HIS FACE*&$&)#
A unearthly, mechanical roar sounded deep within Cobalt as he slammed an elbow down to break through the vent. The last flesh over his skull burning, scarred and nigh unto a patchwork of incision marks and metallic plating, laid bare to the air of the outside world. Two unwitting guards were the first to experience his fury as he rushed forward, snapping the neck of one before crushing the chest of the other. No need for stealth. No time. Must get back the mask. Must return whole. Cobalt ran back to the lab, barreling through the halls as he destroyed any resistance the lesser guards provided.
No sooner had he realized, he was standing before the bloody table he was just strapped onto. His mask, as well as several dulled tools, lay on a nearby tray. Cobalt gingerly took the mask. Gently. Careful.
*Click*
He breathed in, the masks filters kicking in as the cool air was no longer felt on his skin. He turned, seeing the blood trail Riptide had left.
The alarms suddenly jumped to the forefront of sounds, his body now acclimated and perceptive of everything.
He looked once more to the trail of blood, then to the window. He may not have killed him, but that was fine. Riptide would be hunting him. He would want revenge. That was fine.
Cobalt would be waiting.
With a crash, Cobalt flew from the window, towards freedom. That was just fine.
It would be fine.
the chapter 2 season 1 alter agents all have a 'family like' bond, It weirds some loopers out. No, not that they have a familial bond that creeps them out, it's how they'll say the SAME THINGS at the SAME TIME and act like nothing happened

Cobalt trudged through the water, the docks in sight. The moon hung high as it illuminated his path.
Workers, it looked like, populated the shipyard at this late hour. The Ion core within Cobalt surged once more, shorted out from the corrosive sea.
The machine stepped onto the pavement, eyeing the work crew. They were different; red, Gelatinous beings wearing kevlar. Cobalt could not distinguish any clear vital organs. They could be a problem...
Suddenly his core stopped working. Cobalt could feel everything shutting down. The last thing he saw before full systems failure, was an old sailor and a woman with green hair.
Then, darkness...
