can we, like, talk about the significance of the weapons atla characters use for a sec?
we have zuko, with his dual broadswords, which are “two parts of the same whole,” similarly to how aang and zuko are two parts of the same destiny
we have sokka and his boomerang which “always comes back,” expressing his need for his father to return from war
and then sokka also gets a space sword, made by rock that toph gave him, demonstrating how his need for weapons is tied with those he loves in order to protect them
we have mai and her knives, the only character who hides her weaponry under her clothes, like how her true self is always hidden under her indifference
the detail work done in this series is unreal
