Friends, what do you do if ao3 is counting one more word? I tried my fic in 2 word processors and they gave me 100 words but ao3 is giving me 101....

I, unfortunately, don't know why it would be doing this? Hopefully someone else might!
A quick search on the Reddits says that it might be dashes. It looks like some word processors count them as words, some don't, and A03 does not.
Someone else suggested making sure random spaces between words didn't disappear.
