Day 4 - Cup + Day 21 — Love Potion

The cup was full of a bubbling pink liquid.

Honestly, it looked a tad ridiculous. The potion looked as though it was meant for crystal vials or a round bottle, not a coffee mug that had worn lipstick stains.

"Are you really sure you want to try that? You could explode."

"It's your first potion! I want to try it. And, if I explode, you'll know it was out of love."

Before he could respond, she picked up the coffee mug and threw back the potion.

There was a undertone of coffee to the primrose and sugar.

She savored it.

Day 26: Pirate — Drabble Challenge May 26

✦ farmer!levi x milkmaid!reader

It happened during one of those late evenings. You’d stepped away briefly and came back to find Levi in your spot – the good one, closest to the fire – completely settled.

“Levi.”

“It was empty,” he said simply.

“That doesn’t mean–” you gave up. “You’re a pirate.”

That, somehow, made him laugh. A rare sound that you felt in your chest.

“Pirates take what they want.”

“Really? And what’s your plan?”

He reached for you until you were sideways across his lap—legs over the armrest, back against his shoulder, his arm around your waist.

“This,” he whispered into your hair.

31: New Beginnings ---- Magnus was alive. Somehow, despite the Sanctuary going down like a dragon had burned it.

Will rushed forward and hugged her brutally, crushing her against him. Magnus immediately returned the gesture. One of them sobbed. Will couldn't tell who.

"Magnus--"

"None of that now. Please."

"I thought I'd lost you."

"I know."

"I…"

Magnus kissed him. Will returned it before they parted. They stared at each other. Magnus broke into a smile.

"No secrets. I broke our deal, didn't I?"

Will found himself grinning.

"Several times. So did I."

The old words sealed all their new beginnings. Will couldn't wait. ----

31: Never Alone ---- Book still treated his books like a dragon's hoard. It warmed Trottie to see it again, see his shop. See the joy return to his eyes. To share everything they had missed with one another.

She sat on the sofa in Book's shop, listening to him go through associations as he looked for a certain volume. She'd missed this for so long. She cherished having it again.

Since that first meeting they'd faced so many hardships, together and separately before finally ending up here. They would never have to face those things alone again and for that, Trottie was glad. ----

31: Beginning of the End ---- The Church, Barnabas, and the non-believers loomed like dragons waiting to set fire to their plans. They'd all become bigger adversaries over the years than Clarice had anticipated. With the danger, they couldn't risk Zoe, not when God spoke to her. Not when she would lead them to apotheosis.

So Clarice sent her to Gemenon with the knowledge that her life's mission was coming to fruition at last.

When the bombing was shown on the news, everything came crashing down.

Perhaps Clarice's devotion would ruin her in the end. If it did, she wouldn't let it until she was finished. ----

30: Burning ---- Watching the Sanctuary go up in flames had no rival for the worst day of Will's life. Magnus was in there. Magnus, who'd left a path to this so intricate he'd only just seen it, was gone.

He told Abby and Kate to get the abnormals to safety when all he wanted to do was sprint into the wreckage of their home screaming Magnus's name.

He had to continue on, because she'd trusted him to despite the rift between them.

Will's heart was tight as he drove away, hands shaking, eyes blurry.

He hadn't even been able to say goodbye. ----

30: New Life Together ---- Married life felt natural when it was with Trottie. They settled into patterns and habits half-forgotten from their younger years, which Book found comforting in a turbulent world.

Their happiness rivaled the days of their childhood. Book hadn't truly thought he'd be happy again after Felix. Despite his continued grief, he was glad that they were reunited.

They posed outside Trottie's shop for a photograph, Book's arm around her. It reminded him of the days in the ward, their hands clasped as they made their Solemn Pact, the reason they were here now.

"I love you."

"I love you too." ----

30: Zoe ---- It was immediately apparent that Zoe's mind rivaled that of anyone Clarice had ever met, despite still being a child. Zoe took to God faster than she'd anticipated and Clarice knew she would be a star in the training camps when she eventually reached Gemenon.

In all her years of teaching, no other student had ever matched Zoe. When Zoe showed her what she had created in the v-world, she realized that Zoe was what she had been seeking, was God's direction for apotheosis.

Zoe was the answer, chosen by God. She was the one that would guide them all. ----

Day Thirty One: Dragon

“There aren’t many of us left.”

They’re sitting at a makeshift campfire. Collie can’t help staring at the gold gleam of Stebbins’ scales. “Dragon-shifters?”

“Once humans started using us for sport, we lost the ability to survive on our own.” Blue eyes narrow into slits. “My father used to say it was an honor to train humans.”

“I’m guessing you don’t agree?” Collie wouldn’t blame him. He wasn’t a big fan of humans either. Not any of the ones with power, anyway.

Stebbins glances at him, something in him seeming to soften. “Not all of you are terrible, I suppose.”
