Ethyn Ewing vs Billy Brand | A1 Combat 32
One of the bright spots of 2025 was the random emergence of Ethyn Ewing (9-2). An Erik Paulsen student, Ewing got the last minute call to fill in against Malcolm Wellmaker at UFC 322. Wellmaker was making his name as a KO artist at the bottom end of the 135lb division and was being presented as a future title challenger. Ewing came in on a few days notice and picked Wellmaker apart. One of those rare fighters with a seemingly complete game as they enter the UFC. Great at controlling range. A fantastic jab. Some next level defensive awareness and footwork. He looked like a seasoned pro.
Now Ewing gets to show that it wasn’t a one night thing. He’s set to face off with Rafael Estevam (14-0) at UFC Fight Night Duncan vs Moicano this Saturday (April 4).
