The Saturday afternoon sun shone down on Amberwood Prep, giving the place a warm and relaxing feeling as students hung about and procrastinated homework. Adrian had been to the campus before, another Melrose sibling who at times showed up for his younger sisters and brother. Never, though, had he ventured inside the dormitory buildings. Jill had texted him earlier, though, giving him the warning that Sydney might not be feeling so hot. Jackie’s ‘witch studies’ were taking a physical toll on the Alchemist, which was something that didn’t quite sit right with Adrian. Despite that, he was proud of the strength she was finding, and wanted to support her.
Sure, Sydney didn’t take to sugar well, but he knew it helped after her sessions with Jackie. Showing up outside her dorm door, not caring in the slightest that he wasn’t allowed there, he knocked and presented the low fat frozen yogurt ( and a whiskey for himself ) when the door opened.
