Happening right now in the bay area! Urban Shield is a police training program for law enforcement in which they train and teach each other techniques for crowd control and disaster response drills. In reality, Urban Shield is for training police officers in militarization methods that they then implement against mostly communities of color, particularly during moments of community uprisings. These demonstrators are demanding that such programs be defunded and that the money instead be reallocate to schools and community programs.
