There was a few things every kid knew. You got your quirk at around four years old. You got your soul bond connections within a few years after that. It was unthinkable to not get a quirk, to be quirkless. It was unimaginable to never hear singing in your head.
Izuku grows up without the feeling of power flowing through his veins and his head silent to any connections, so he decides to find an outlet to vent his emotions. If he has no one to bother, to annoy or burden with his singing, then he may as well make use of that one thing, even if he would prefer to have singing in his head than the accidental career he finds. *** Shinsou uses the singing in his head as motivation to get up everyday, sometimes more so than the spite and coffee that he is sure has replaced the blood in his veins these days.
