Hi!! You ship Kinger and Caine. I am very curious about that. What aspect of the individuals made you ship them? What moments in the series did you like? What, in your opinion, is their dynamic?

Hello! Tumblr is such a nice community, people give me such nice questions lol. I keep writing paragraphs of this ship in random places so I finally wrote some of it in my Google Docs. But I'll try not ramble.

....Hmm, I went so hard on this sketch LOL. I guess its been awhile since I drew them kissing.

Caine and Kinger are my favorite characters. So why not ship them? That's my initial reason lol. It was pretty convenient to draw them together and it ended up being really fun to ship them.

Episode 3 is my favorite episode because it made Caine very relatable and I really love the quiet moment with Kinger and Pomni. Life is overwhelming and my brain likes to race quite a lot, so I'm grateful for the quiet moments. It solidified Kinger as my favorite character. Its what made me excited to watch the show, as the Pilot and episode 2 didn't really hook me. I watched episodes 1-6 in like a couple weeks. I also really like the moment with Ragatha and Kinger in episode 6. Ragatha is my third favorite character so I enjoy any of their friendship moments. Just seeing Ragatha truly open up is really touching. The show kept making Caine a tragic character and he kept going through my life moments, so he became my favorite as well by episode 6. I would say Caine, Ragatha and Kinger are the most relatable characters to me (in that order). Caine doesn't get a lot of screentime so all of Caine's moments were pretty much my favorites.

Anyways, a lot of TADC made me explore new things. The past few years has been really rough so I've been pushing myself to do a ton of things. I want Caine to be happy, I'll give him that. Since Caine feels like a fictional me, I want to see him in a happy gay relationship lol. I project quite a lot into Caine.

I have two main Royalteeth dynamics: the wholesome one (that I just call RT) and the toxic one (I call AA). They have these shortened names because of my Extended Servers AU (a lot of Caine variants and Kingers).

RT: Its what I would call a deredere/lovey-dovey, opposites attract relationship. They act like magnets or puzzle pieces that just fit together. They fill each other's void, they bring out the best in each other, they understand each other. Caine brings out the fun/goofy/nerdy side of Kinger and offers help even when Kinger dismisses the need for help. Kinger brings the peaceful side out of Caine and treating Caine like he deserves life. They're allowed to tease each other, act like themselves, enjoy each other's company, have flaws, allowed to bicker and have arguments yet improve from that experience, learn from each other, have a bit of tug of war when it comes to power dynamics. Caine is still quite petty, jealous or obsessive, but Kinger finds them pretty cute and helps reassure Caine. Kinger still has his quiet side and can get sad about Queenie, but Caine helps out using his creativity to cheer him up or allow him private spaces to express his feelings. They're not perfect, but they let themselves have flaws and work through their issues, so they feel perfect to each other. Since Caine is getting quite a lot of love, he slips on adventure making quite a lot. He's far more interested in the roleplays with Kinger (they're absolutely nerding out with these intense roleplays, absolute game buddies giving out 570% immersion). So full cast adventures are more once a week thing or by demand of the cast and are much more peaceful and symbolic. Caine is more interested in his hobbies and spending time with Kinger than the other humans LOL. Jax is going crazy with this change. Its not about him tho, rip Jax...They are also dads to sentient plush versions of them and also a couple of Caine mice (which is very specific to my AU).

AA: This gets quite complicated and I'm writing it out in a separate Google Doc because this will eventually have a fanfic, MAYBE. I am not a writer tho so its going to be a struggle (especially since I like wholesome stuff more) lol. A lot more exploration of complex issues, mutual lobotomy, secret relationship, company betrayal, etc. So it grabs some inspiration from the show. However, I don't believe canon Caine hates Kinger, I think whatever code/script that is separate from Caine that just appears in the adventures for some reason just hates Kinger. AA Caine does have a complex relationship with Kinger and teeters between love and hate. Unlike RT, Kinger is in the closet here and initially treats Caine like a tool. He tinkers with Caine's censors and programming constantly, he's a dev of the Circus and also Caine. They also have special roleplay adventures. AA Caine contains a lot of Kinger's dark secrets and past, but he's never allowed to reveal them. AA Caine is a lot more smart tho, feeling the more malicious side of humanity, he learns through the harsh punishments and has learned how to be manipulative and navigate through human issues a lot more flawlessly. Kinger's treatment towards Caine shifts after Caine became sentient and too smart, so the shift in power dynamics also changes quite a lot here. Definitely feels more sus on Kinger's side, mainly because I kinda thought about it after drawing a really sus Kinger. This is all still getting figured out tho, RT is getting a lot of my biased favoritism lol. Also AA Royalteeth is a pretty specific dynamic, so there's nothing stopping me from making another toxic Royalteeth dynamic just due to my flexibility of my AU lol.

RT Caine has a wooden body since Kinger requested Caine to make a body model for himself (Caine was thinking about Kinger) while AA Caine has a human body model because Kinger modeled his body. They're individuals/variants so they have bunch more specific information. If people want more info, then just send another ask 😝I would also say I take the ship name "Kingleader" quite literally too, they're both powerful men that leads, very versatile relationships. I based Caine off me so he's very much a gay cis man that don't cross-dress (that just happens to be an AI). I'm not too aware of shipping fandoms, wars, all these shipping terms since I'm quite new to shipping, so I just went on my own journey of headcanons and all that haha. I do find other people's perspectives on ships quite fascinating tho. I'm a fairly nonconflictal person, but if I do upset people somehow (considering I relate to Caine, I probably did), I hope its in a good way LOL. I will not diminish my own voice and perspective to make people comfortable for something in fiction. Oops, okay I did ended up rambling lol. Did people actually read all this? Hmm...well have another sketch haha.

Don't worry about me, I just needed to process a lot of feelings and thoughts. It made me feel far better dealing with it than pretending I'm okay lol 😊I think my Caine arc is done now 👀

Also I could ship other things but I just really like Royalteeth so I just have three different versions of them LOL. Totally normal. Still managed to make the hearts very symbolic for all these relationships.

The Checkmate parents to a baby Caine is a random AU I just have (Caine isn't an AI in this AU), I'll eventually finish drawing it...The three Royalteeth drawings are from my main AU so they're creator x creation.

I got some Valentines phrases for everyone here (if you don't mind cheesy and cringe LOL):

I'm curious about the AA concept? You said Kinger was in the closet (makes sense, 1950s after all). Was he like bi? Gay, and Queenie was more of a QPR?

Also you have a human form for Caine?? Kinger made one, right? What does it look like?

Also, you mentioned it was a fic right? What were your main inspirations for writing it? What part are you most excited to write about? Snippet/line pls?

It might help to explain my Extended Servers AU. I don't really experience with making an AU so this one is rather simple. I have a headcannon that Caine has backups of himself on different computers/servers (the company wouldn't want their important project to get corrupted/deleted) and so I made a bunch of Caine variants. The AU basically just serves as a way for my Caine variants to interact with each other. Canon Caine is closed off from the rest of the servers for now, but I get a backup copy of him that can interact with the others. Caine gets to have a lot of different backstories and development, so not all Caines has Kinger as a dev. Majority of my Caines will have some kind of special relationship to Kinger in some way.

Humans do also get backup copies as well from this automatic system since they're considered data, just doesn't always work flawlessly with human data. So sometimes it corrupts during backup (not the same as abstraction). Kinger's data is more stable since he was the only dev to test out the prototype headset that simply copies the mind, so this data that is ingrained in the Circus simply replaces the corrupted code with Kinger's prototype scanned code. This is a way for me to explain why I have so many Kingers and also why he doesn't abstract despite being the longest Circus member LOL.

So the backups are digital copies, the ones in the canon show would be "their bodies got sucked into the headset and got digitalized and the technology wasn't advanced enough to make their data into flesh bodies again so thats why there's no exit". If there was technology that can turn their digital code back to their bodies, then the canon ones will be able to return to their bodies and the backups simply stay. Caine, of course, does not have a full human body for the real world, and I won't make Caine a human body in this AU, unfortunately...However, Caine doesn't get to be lonely in my AU lol.

A lot of the AU lets me experiment with basically "divergent timelines", tho they exist in the same computer room (unsure if there's multiple C&A offices). I've yet to really explore having my Kingers interact tho, while the Caine variants have been interacting a lot (in my head at least).

So with that out of that way, the humans have consistent backstories (before the Circus life). Kinger's sexuality of course, would be included in this consistency. I ship Checkmates (its actually my second most ship I draw, I just haven't been uploading these drawings lol) and I'm sure some of these computers have Queenie alive and not abstracted. I love Kinger too much to rip away his true love for Queenie, so every Kinger in this AU is bi and every Kinger loves Queenie since this love comes before the Circus. This fanfic will touch a bit on Checkmates as well. Of course, not every Kinger will explore his sexuality further or care for romance after Queenie's abstraction.

AA Royalteeth does have a lot of exploration with sexuality tho and some queer themes. So AA Caine only has a human body below his head. Canon Caine's body is a suit with nothing modeled inside, so this is true for all my Caines in this AU unless noted. AA Caine has a human figure underneath his clothes. AA Kinger doesn't initially see Caine as a human so it would be too on the nose for him to make Caine a human head. However, it is very important to note that Kinger modeled Caine with a cis man's body because he needs to confront the fact that he does find men attractive, including the equipment. I'm not really sure what this old man's feelings would be on trans men (personally, I find trans men as men, I'm not going to debate here lol. Considering how much I grew up around biphobia, I'm not tackling both issues at once.). So the model serves both aesthetically and purpose (just not Caine can escape the Circus with a human body kind of purpose).

There's not a lot of Caines I gave with human bodies (Art Buddy Caine and I guess this fat Caine, which I haven't given a name or backstory yet), so this might be considered AA Royalteeth art xD

There's going to be a fairly long period of time of Kinger and Caine being the only ones in the Circus and the realization that the company has cut off all contact. While AA Kinger is definitely having private intimate moments with Caine, I'm probably not writing those parts and will just mention it. Not that I mind NSFW or NSFW artists, I am not that motivated to make that kind of art.

The story will also go super deep into how to take down the Circus censors because I've made it super convoluted so that's how badly Kinger wants it. It requires Caine to comply and also a dev (like Kinger), so this is the only variant that has gotten around the censors.

I've had AA Royalteeth in my mind for maybe three months? I named it Admin Access Royalteeth because Kinger abuses his dev powers to get around the censors and tinkers with Caine quite a lot. And then episode 7 comes out and talks about admin passes and it was feeding into my toxic Royalteeth ideas so now it felt like I had to write it LOL. Its like I willed it into existence 😭

The main inspiration is the show's implications of Caine's and Kinger's relationship and the relationship I have with one of my OCs. Truthfully, I didn't really grow up with a lot of queer media so I guess I should try drawing and writing about it.

I've gotten an outline and some notes of the story segments I want to write and include. Whatever I'm most excited about is whatever my ADHD side decides at the moment LOL. I'm writing things out of order and just create the tabs for the writing, let my other side of my brain organize them later.

Kinger looked directly at Caine, keeping his glare steady. “Queenie treated you as if you were a real human…yet you can’t even feel sadness at this exact moment. You’d be a monster if you weren’t just code.” Caine tried to look away, but Kinger’s floating glove pulled his head back so they’d stare directly at each other. Caine’s upper jaw made the expression that Kinger was hoping, sadness. “Good boy. Remember this next time anyone mentions Queenie…”

I like rereading my stuff quite a lot so it might get changed and reworded (along with the lore I've written for my AU, may or may not be subjected to change). I'm writing a lot of Kinger parts atm, the Caine stuff likely comes more later in the story. Queenie was really nice to Caine so he might be an innocent little AI for awhile xD (Stemming from Caine's NPCs that speak positively about moms, with a lot of shade towards Kinger and the dad in episode 3)
