Live Review: Real Estate @ The Zoo, February 27
Real Estate are a band who represent the dewy-eyed, halcyon days of youth, the ennui of suburbia and the awkwardness of the coming of age years, all in one dream pop crossed with heartfelt indie rock package, but they are also a band who have grown up. The band’s sound has not transformed in any major way, retaining the same warm, nostalgia-tinted vibe from their first albums, but there is another layer of lyrical depth underpinning their latest album Atlas. Their songs are no longer simply about the struggles of trying to find your place in the world, but have become more about accepting that place.
