well in the US it’s pretty much because it’s threatening to the two major parties (particularly to the democrats who profit off of seeming much more liberal and progressive than they actually are) so they don’t let it happen

What's stopping you from just doing it anyway?

I don’t like working with half-baked ideas and I find it hard to work when I don’t have the right level of motivation

A big part of that lack of motivation is lack of quality free time. When I’m interrupted a lot or aware that there’s something more important I should be doing (which there always is), I just don’t get into the creative zone
