Audra loved the stretches of time when she and Bill were both working at home–– there was something quite satisfying about the routine, even if it wasn’t as fixed as a 9 to 5. They’d shared a nice and easy morning before scuttling off to their respective caves–– Bill to his office and Audra to the den (though admittedly, she never wound up staying in one place for very long). Tempted too strongly by the sunlight outside, she soon found herself out in their backyard, puttering around and mumbling her lines under her breath so as not to frighten the neighbors. She’d gotten through the scene a few times, but without her scene partner she couldn’t get much beyond her initial impulses for the character. Audra sighed, tossing the script aside, and stretched her arms up, leaning her head this way and that.

A small smile crept onto her lips when she heard footfalls approaching her, and she leaned easily back into Bill’s touch, hands resting on his biceps and head dipped back against his shoulder. “Hmm. Not bad,” she murmured, peering up at him. “How’s your book? Cooperating?” The muse could be fickle, she understood, but it could also be demanding. In either case, she’d always be there with a curious ear and a shoulder to lean on.
