So tomorrow morning I have to get up bright and early for a tennis practice. I actually had fun playing last year but that is because two of my good friends had joined the team. Freshman year is another story.

You're supposed to try to make friends with people on a sports team. I get that. That's one of the apparent upsides of playing sports. Too bad there was no way in hell that would happen for me. I'm not much of a people person but if me and another person can relate to each other on a certain level we can get along and become friends and all that jazz. But everyone on my team was the exact opposite of me. I remember at one point in the season someone spited me for being a person who likes video games and other things that express subjects of fantasy.

It was just not fun. I can't remember being very happy that year. And since my friends who were on the team last year won't be on this year (one decided to switch to water polo and the other is moving) I can already see this season being the same as the one I went through my freshman year.

So now you can see why I would rather not waste my precious sleeping time to go practice for a few hours with people I would rather not be around.

I never had a lot of motivation to be on the tennis team to begin with. It's fun to play with friends but on school teams it feels different since it still has the whole pressuring me to be social vibe that school itself has.
