I got new scriptures for my mission! (And life.) There’s this really nice guy in Alpine, Utah who binds up books in real leather. My scriptures are dark purple and I couldn’t be happier. I was a little worried, tbh, about how they were going to turn out, especially because I originally wanted silver only to find out that you can’t change that. But these are freakin amazing!!

Not only is it beautiful leather in the exact color I was hoping for (it’s called Divine Purple and he ordered it especially for me), it has colored ribbons, raised spinal cords, spinal embossing saying Holy Bible etc, my name on the front, and The Family Proclamation and The Living Christ in the back of each book.

I seriously can’t even begin to write how happy I am about these.

For those interested, his (admittedly dysfunctional) website is bookbindingrepair.com. Including the original cost of the scriptures that he rebound, it cost me about $400 for two volumes. For just a quad, it would probably be closer to $200. This guy is so nice, too, and will talk your ear off about spiritual things - in a good way.
