- Oh no, oh no, oh no! This should not be happening! Oyw watched the little body on the ground.

- Aahou wake up! Mama is here now! Ka’he stroke her daughter tenderly. I think she is very sick, she said to ‘kny and Oyw, Maybe we should call for Shanga Baba?

- Yes of course! I will run very, very fast! Oyw was gone before anyone could even react.

- Come, my heart, let me take you closer to the fire. We don’t want you to be cold, do we?

Ka’he rocked and caressed her little baby girl, but nothing seemed to wake her up. Only when Shanga came, she left the baby’s side, to let Shanga examine her.

- I’m afraid I don’t have good news. Shanga said quietly to ‘kny. I found marks on her foot. She must have been bitten by a snake, and the snake seems to have taken all the wind in the little girl’s body. If she starts to breathe again before sunset, then maybe...

- So there is hope? ‘kny was praying for that possibility.

- Honestly, I don’t think so. But I might be wrong, so we will just have to wait and see.

After sunset Shanga checked Aahou for the last time.

- The wind from nose and mouth is gone. The little drum inside is silent. And the warmth has left her, even if we sit next to the fire. Little soul, you are on a different journey now. Go peacefully. 

- I’m really, really sorry, she said to Ka’he, ‘kny and Oyw. Her spirit will go to find the light now. And one day it might come back, in a different body. Let us wish her farewell.

- Goodbye sweetest Aahou, we loved you very much... ‘kny and Oyw could not hide their tears. Ka’he didn’t say anything. She seemed totally frozen.

- Take good care of Ka’he the next weeks. Her spirit has left to travel with her daughter, and it will take some time for her to be back. Her body will be here, but her spirit will not. She will really need your love and care.

- I’m really worried about Dubi, she is sleeping too much and not eating enough. I’m also worried about you, to be honest.

- Yeah, I’m not feeling well. I used to feel dizzy a lot, but after the birth it’s even worse, and I have a headache all the time. And I’m not getting better, so I am worried too.

- Oyw and I were thinking about talking with the sorcerer. How would you feel about that?

- I honestly don’t know. Do you think it would help?

- I don’t know either. I just feel that we need to do something.

- Yes you are probably right. Let’s do it. But I must admit he scares me quite a bit.

- Me too. I will ask Oyw to contact him.

- So this woman with the babies, she is your woman? Yerej the sorcerer asked.

- No, no! She is more like a sister.

- I see, I see, I see. Okay I can come tomorrow evening. You give me two rabbits and ten fish.

The next day everybody was a bit tensed, and felt unsure about the whole thing. But since the babies and ‘kny were not any better, they decided to go ahead with it anyway.

- It’s you who is sick? The sorcerer looked at ‘kny.

- No, it’s her, the blond one. And her babies.

- I see, I see, I see. You are cursed by the moonlight, he said, now turning to Ka’he.

- The moonlight?

- Yes.

- Bad moonlight go away! Yabba dabba netflix mix!

- ?

- Now babies.

- Dibby dubby wishy wosh, never kiss the ugly frogs!

- ?

- Now I go home. Bye.

- Do you feel any different? ‘kny asked

- Not at all. If anything, I feel a little bit worse. That was just ... weird.

- I agree.

It was a wonderful day. Oyw had decided to go fishing a bit later so that he could help a bit with the kids.

This was the favourite kind of days for the kids. Nobody could throw them as high in the air as Oyw could!

It was also highly appreciated by Ka’he and ‘kny, because the truth is that they usually took the heavier workload with the kids.

- Where is Aahou? Ka’he was slightly annoyed. Ooof, that kid! Always wandering off! Aahou!! Aahou!! Where are you!?

- Me play here! Aahou have new friend!

- Come back here where we can see you! I told you many times not to go ...

- WHIIIII! AWAWAWAW! The terrifying scream was ominous.

- That’s not good! Oyw’s blood froze to ice.

They could hear Aahou crying, and then silence. A horrible, frightening silence.

- My Aahou! Aahou!! What happened to you?!

The following days there was not much change in Ka’he’s situation

‘kny was still helping with the breastfeeding and caring of her babies,

and also taking care of her own children and the garden.

But then, after seven-eight days Ka’he was feeling better. The headache was gone and she had more energy.

- It’s so lovely to see that you are getting better, sis! Your color is so much better and the twinkle in your eyes is back.

- Yes I feel almost normal now. You have no idea what a relief that is! Now I can provide milk for both my girls, and I see that they are also healthier.

- It’s a miracle! The difference is amazing, and I’m so glad for you my dear!

- Thank you Shanga Baba! My heroine! My unknown saviour! You have saved my life and my daughters’ lives and I will be forever grateful! You are my Goddess!

And just as she said this, it started to rain.

- I take this as a sign, Ka’he said to herself. She is a Goddess!
