It's already established that Eustace's dad's pull out game isn't like a couch, it ain't that strong
But I imagine he had enough rizz and monies with his chief prosecutor gig to pull a baddie. His dialogue in game could pull me if I wasn't careful and thats the kinda charisma his character needs to do half the stuff he even does
One of the hardest things to wrap my head around is why Eustace's dad would keep him even after the wife shenanigans, so I have head canons for why he decided to keep Eustace because otherwise, his dad seems like the kind of guy who'd put him up for adoption without any second thoughts.
He needs one heck of a reason to commit to keeping a kid when there were easier options to forego that responsibility and I imagine the most compelling reason that makes sense given canon events is that he wanted to create a dependent who was severely codependent on him so he could use that dependency later down the line. He didn't keep him for the love of the game, but he was willing to make the long-term investment.
This is an N/Ghetsis situation. Ghetsis also didn't care for N, but he made a long-term investment banking on the impressionable nature of childhood innocence and genuine ignorance which he knew was easier to shape in childrens.
The head canons I got for Eustace dad and his wife will appear in a future fanfic because my hyperfixation demands it.
