The #AaliyahxMAC collection is out tomorrow! Here are quick #CocoaSwatches of the glosses: (clockwise) Li Li’s Motor City, At Your Best You Are, 1 in A Million , Brooklyn Born. My quick thoughts on this collection: I feel like most of the items are something you might find in an Aaliyah museum rather than items *inspired* by her. I bet you could find most of the items from this collection on set at the Hot Like Fire video shoot with Missy Elliot. HOWEVER, the great thing about collaborations is the chance to show an audience an overall aesthetic , and I definitely think many people wish that the collection had more products inspired by her aesthetic that also worked on darker complexions, especially as a black female artist with a predominantly black audience. With that being said, the packaging is gorgeous and I definitely think you feel like you are getting a piece of her with some of these items! What will y’all be picking up tomorrow ??
