You got it!! Its been a while since I've worked with this little plotline so I hope you enjoy!! - Mod Deku
As well as things had gone, Inko still couldn't stop herself from worrying. That's just how she was, a worrier to the core and it showed. Even as Izuku helped her with dinner, insisting on doing most of the work, she kept sneaking glances over at him. She could read him like a book, as usual, and it seemed he was entirely happy, going about the prep work as he chattered on about school. Inko had expected so much worse than this, expected her son to be mad at her, look down on her, something.
But it seemed he was more than alright with how things were proceeding, even mentioning a few times how excited he was to meet the baby in due time. Inko smiled nervously at that, helping Izuku set the table and jumping when the doorbell rang. She told Izuku to finish up, trying to smooth her hair a bit before opening the door. Aizawa looked as he always did, albeit dressed up a little nicer than usual.
“Hi! You came at the perfect time! Come in!” She smiled and took Aizawa by the hand, pulling him inside and trying to keep her anxiety under control. Izuku smiled at Aizawa, putting plates and dishes on the table.
“Hello sir! Good to see you!” He said politely, getting the food arranged.
“Here, sit, everything is ready.” Aizawa nodded, sitting down and looking around awkwardly. He wasn't sure what to say to Izuku in this case, especially given what his student knew about his relationship with his mother.
“How are you doing, Mido- er, Izuku?” He resisted the urge to rub the back of his neck, taking some food and passing the platter over. Izuku started chattering on about a new technique All-Might was helping him learning, no one interrupting him at the risk of making things awkward. Aizawa chimed in here and there with advice, finally getting into a good conversation as the three of them ate.
“Please tell me this isn't as dangerous as it sounds, you two?”
“Don't worry Mom, its not! Everything is as safe as possible, i swear!” Both Inko and Aizawa gave him a look and Izuku laughed nervously.
“It is! I haven't broken any bones in… a while!” The rest of the dinner went peacefully, small talk being made until Inko excused herself to grab dessert. It was quiet for a moment, before Izuku spoke up.
“Aizawa-sensei… do you love my mom?” Aizawa nodded after a moment, almost waiting for something bad to happen.
“Good. She loves you, a lot. I haven't seen her this happy with someone besides me before. My dad left when i was a baby, so shes always done all of this alone… please don't do that to her too, alright?”
“I don't plan on going anywhere, i won't be leaving your mother, or our baby. And… you can just call me Shouta, alright? Well, not in school, that would be…”
“Yeah.” Izuku smiled as Inko returned, a platter of cookies in hand.
“You two getting along?” Izuku nodded, grabbing a cookie as Aizawa asked her a question. Before long, things settled down, everyone migrating to the living room to watch television before Izuku got up from his spot on the couch.
“I'm going to go work on some homework before bed, goodnight!” He pressed a kiss to Inko’s temple and said goodbye to Aizawa, disappearing down the hall. Aizawa moved closer to Inko once they were alone, her head resting on his shoulder.
“I think that went well, don't you?”
“Yeah, its all… a bit weird, i guess.”
“Its an adjustment, for everyone, but we’ll get used to it.” Inko’s hand rested on her belly, rubbing gently and letting her eyes close. Aizawa’s hand covered her own, arm around her shoulder.
“This sure is happening, huh?”
“It is…” Inko muttered, already half asleep. Aizawa just smiled softly, pulling her close and letting her rest, knowing they would both need as much as they could before long.
