CONVERGE
Only Crime
Life Was Fair
Great video, great song
Any idea what Kurt was using on Petitioning and/or Jane Doe? Sorry if this has been addressed before
Not sure. Petitioning and Jane Doe are very different records - both from each other and from the releases that followed. It's a little tougher to say what's going on, because for both of those albums they still had two guitarists (Aaron Dalbec, who left/got booted after Jane Doe to focus on Bane). I'd say Jane Doe was kind of the watershed moment for their current sound though.
A Tale From Jacob Bannon
I was lucky to see Converge in Cleveland at the Grog Shop this past Monday night. An intense show as always, much more so when they came by Toledo summer of last year. After an amazing set and the showcase of new songs, they decided to close with Concubine. I decided to run out across the stage and give the night one last crowd dive, but half way there, my foot got caught on Jake's mic cord, leaving me hopping one footed like an idiot. Jake threw a 'wtf man' look. Feels bad.
Afterward, getting my vinyl signed, I apologized for my lack of grace, in which he told me a story of Aaron Dalbec, the former additional guitarist of Converge. I cant promise accuracy as I was more than half deaf at the time and people we're loud leaving.
He told me they were going to go downtown (not sure of the place or time) and see a few shows, some local bands playing. It was during one of the shows that Aaron decided to run up and dive off stage, but when he got up there, he caught every single cord and ripped down every mic stand.
Its cool to know the guys you look up to don't really care if you fuck up, and are willing to share their times when they once did the same.
Stay gold.
Good one, me. Good one, indeed. I was trying to say, "Aaron Bedard, Aaron Dalbec, Damon Belladero, Ben Chused, and Christopher Cardone are the Bane of my existence (I dug the demo era)." But that reply shit's got a limit. You can't limit my jokes and my scene shoutouts, Tumblr. You can NOT and you shall NOT. Seriously though, good one, me.
