This AU List
Also, I’m making this an Aasimar AU, just to fit more with D&D
Percy fell the night the Briarwoods attacked.
He kept his status as an Aasimar secret from VM for as long as he could, only using necrotic shroud in a desperate move to save Vex.
Though it worked, it was painful to see his wings like that, and to feel the way they ached after so long without use.
Vex was so gentle, so kind, so willing to help him through it.
And eventually, after the fall of the Chroma Conclave, and the Dawnfather’s selection of his Champion, Percy’s wings grew back in, strong as they once were.
They felt like safety to Vex, when they wrapped around her, and to Percy, they felt like victory.
The couple fought together in the skies, delivering a duo more than capable of producing death from above.
So when Vesper was born with wings, golden and proud like her father’s, it was a beautiful day in Whitestone.
Just as every day was with two proud de Rolos watching over on golden wings.
for the send in an au and you'll say five things about it ask, aasimar!percy or a modern fantasy au?
I'm in love with aasimar Percy oh my god
Every generation of de Rolos there is one aasimar because Whitestone and its leaders are blessed by Pelor. Percy is that one child and he grows up already having white hair. His parents make it clear that he doesn't have to be involved in religion just because of that, and he doesn't.
During the attack, Percy is able to save Cassandra by protecting her with his wings which results in them being badly hurt and burned. Percy thinks that the only reason that he's alive is because of Pelor.
Percy forms his deal with Orthax to spite Pelor, to try to break whatever bond he has because in his mind he should have died and Pelor saved him from that fate. But of course it doesn't work, and again Pelor tries to protect Percy from the demon, resulting in Percy becoming a fallen aasimar.
Vex is the first one who sees his wings. They're awful looking with few feathers and bones poking out and so many burn scars. And they shake because of the weight that Percy feels from them and how much they hurt him.
During his year with Vex, his wings start to heal, the feathers start to grow back lush and bright white and so soft. And he's just so fucking happy because his parents would be so proud seeing him now. And when Vesper gets her wings, he's right there to teach her how to fly <3
for the aasimar percy au, something featuring percy and vex in their twilight years since aasimar and half-elves have similarish lifespans?
Percy and Vex sit on their balcony, looking out at Whitestone. There are streaks of grey in her hair now but it looks lovely on her, everything does. There are wrinkles around his eyes, all testaments to the happiness he has found. And he holds her hand, running his thumb over the back of it gently.
"Did you get a chance to read Vesper's letter, dearest," he asks softly. Vex hums, neither a yes or a no but he knows that it means that she probably hasn't. "She's visiting with the grandchildren next week, wants to know if Keyleth can be persuaded to come."
"I'll send to her tonight," Vex tells him. "I'm sure she'd love to see all of them."
They fall into comfortable silence, looking down at the city so long ago they pulled from the darkness. It's thrived since then and Percy knows that it's all thanks to the beautiful woman at his side.
"Darling," Vex squeezes hand and looks over at him, "might I trouble you for a hug?"
Percy smiles, "You know you don't have to ask." They both rise from their chairs and Vex tucks herself into his chest. Without her having to ask, he poofs out his wings, grown large in his many years, and wraps them around her. "Can I ask if there's a particularly reason that you need this?"
Vex nods, holding him a little tighter, "Just haven't been feeling like myself, the years...they're starting to wear on me, as I'm sure they are on you."
Percy hums in his agreement, "They are, but when I begin to think of that too much, I think of our children and grandchildren, how full of love our lives are. Maybe you should talk to Keyleth about that when she's here, no doubt she's struggling with the same thing."
Vex hums in agreement and he feels her fingers reach out behind him to stroke some of his feathers. "Wise as ever, darling. Can you hold me a little tighter?"
Percy complies immediately, pressing her towards him with his wings in the way he knows makes her feel safe. She sags heavier against him with a happy sigh.
consider: aasimar percy using his wings to better snuggle with vex and sometimes playfully unfurling them to give her some sneaky keeses
also they definitely race his wings vs her broom like all the time. he figures either he gets the thrill of victory directly or his modifications to the broom have made it fast and safe enough to compete with an aasimar; it's a win-win. (he still gets a little pouty when she beats him tho.)

When she has nightmares, he'll wrap them all the way around her, making her a warm little cocoon to feel safe in and shield her from the world. Sometimes when he hugs her, they just come out without him doing it because his instincts are telling him to keep her safe and close to him. She thinks it's just the sweetest and adores whenever he does it, and when he does it to the kids too.
Also him using them to protect his family? Like someone says something unsavory about how he should force Cassandra to get married? Wings are out and he's towering over them making himself as big as possible, turning his eyes white.
And so so so many races! Usually with a bet attached like who is in charge of bathtime or who has to make dinner and things like that. And when he loses, Vex always teases him because he's been practicing flying since he was little and she's only been doing it for a few months. But she always softens it with a kiss to his cheek.
Follow up on the aasimar!percy ask: What if Gwen is the aasimar of her generation of de Rolos? Like she’s still a tiefling but somehow also an aasimar at the same time. I imagine her wings would look like maleficient’s from the first live action movie. As for how she’s both, maybe Pelor made her one when he noticed she would be born a tiefling as a way to better protect her?
I'm not totally sure how that would work, and it's practically canon that Vesper is an aasimar, but I adore the idea of Gwen having wings and Pelor looking out for the youngest de Rolo child. And also I think that that would give Gwen a more permanent feeling of belonging in her family where it's so obvious that she's Other. And it absolutely mitigates some of the nastiness from people.
