Note: when writing a paper in LaTeX using the natbib package for your citations and a MYSTERIOUS ERROR pops up where the package MAGICALLY refuses to recognize the author and/or year fields of your bib document and nothing is actually wrong with the bib document, switch the bibliography style from plain -> plainnat even if you've never had to do that before (⊙‿⊙✿)
