Born from Faith, Built on Dedication
In the narrow lanes of a small town, amid dust and dreams, Aastha Nishtha Foundation was born. Its founders had one simple, unshakeable belief: that every child deserves a childhood — not one stolen by poverty, hunger, or neglect.
What started with a handful of volunteers, a borrowed room, and forty children who had nowhere else to go has grown into one of the region's most trusted grassroots organizations. The name itself says everything — Aastha (faith) and Nishtha (unwavering dedication) — two pillars that have guided every decision, every programme, every sleepless night of service.
From underprivileged urban slums to forgotten rural hamlets, the foundation stepped in where the state could not—reaching children abandoned by circumstance, by neglect, and sometimes by the very systems designed to protect them.
The Children Who Were Left Behind
India is home to millions of children who fall through the cracks. Children who labour instead of learn. Children who go to bed hungry. Children who have never held a book, heard a kind word from a teacher, or imagined a future beyond their circumstances.
Aastha Nishtha Foundation looked at these children — not as statistics, but as stories waiting to be told differently. The Foundation identified the most pressing crises: school dropouts, child labour, malnutrition, abuse, lack of healthcare access, and the crushing weight of generational poverty.
Rather than offering temporary relief, the Foundation chose the harder road — structural, sustained transformation.

Priya, Age 14 · DELHI
When the Foundation found Priya, she had not attended school in two years. Her family had pulled her out to help at home. Today, Priya is the top student in her class, dreams of becoming a doctor, and mentors younger girls in the Shiksha Kiran centre every evening. "This Foundation did not just give me an education," she says. "It gave me back my future."
Aryan, Age 11 · GHAJIYBAD
Aryan was picking rags when volunteers first met him. He was shy, malnourished, and had never held a pencil. Within six months of the Poshan Abhiyan and daily schooling, Aryan gained healthy weight and won his block's art competition. His painting of a sunrise now hangs in the foundation's office—a daily reminder of why the work matters.
Our Journey
Eight Years of Milestones
2016 — The Founding
A Room, Forty Children, One Dream
The Foundation registered with a borrowed space, a team of five volunteers, and forty children from the surrounding slum. The first program: daily meals and alphabet lessons.
2018 — Expanding Reach
Three centers opened.
With growing community trust and the first donor support, the foundation opened three Shiksha Kiran education centers, enrolling 400 children in structured learning.
Our Impact in Numbers
What Eight Years of Dedication Looks Like
Numbers alone cannot tell the full story — but they hint at its scale. Over eight years, Aastha Nishtha Foundation has reached more than 5,000 children across 12 districts. School enrolment in programme areas has risen by 78%. Child labour in target communities has dropped by more than half.
Over 300 girls who were on the verge of early marriage have instead continued their education. More than 150 children rescued from difficult situations now live in safe homes with access to schooling, healthcare, and counselling. Sixty young people trained through Digital Disha have gone on to secure employment or start micro-enterprises.
These are not just statistics. Each number is a name, a face, a story — of a child who was once invisible and is now seen.
