For three years we have had nothing to do with each other for important reasons that I want to keep to myself to protect my daughter. I can only say that he is a toxic person who has hurt me and especially her a lot. I am afraid of what is coming, but I hope very much that they respect our wish that this person is no longer welcome in our lives. Fortunately, I have sole custody. But some unfair decisions have already been made... I hope that the best interests of the child come first with this decision.

Yesterday was my one year date at DHS. I have officially been working in Child Welfare for a year. It's been a crazy, intense, stressful, and sometimes rewarding year. I've grown a lot. I got the okay to start working on an idea, so who knows what this next year will bring. I've laughed, I've cried, and I've touched the lives of some really impressive kids and parents. I was so uncertain that I'd make it to this year mark, but I know that without C, God (and some pretty great co-workers) I never would have made this far.
