almond crunch :00
almond crunch: i’ve mentioned it in one of the other asks i think, but aastra’s double identity! she originally takes it on because the anonymity means people will actually talk to her like a regular person, but over time, once she’s introduced in person/with her other identity, it becomes a source of conflict both for her and khrìa—aastra, who begins to feel like she’s dug herself into a hole and can’t climb out without having to potentially betray khrìa’s trust, and khrìa, who believes she’s fallen for two different people, and feels torn between them. everything will work out alright, of course, but it’s going to make for some VERY fun writing.

@sparkxii for consolidation purposes
a random fact about one of my ocs: you learn this later on, but the duchess (aastra) actually wasn’t born into the royalty of tierny-hval! her parents adopted her because none of them wanted to have children because of genetic health issues.
toughest aspect of my wip: well i’m hoping to get it to 30k minimum with a final goal of 50k, but i’m TERRIBLE at writing slow paced things, so that’s going to be a really big challenge. i definitely need to allocate time to figuring out lots of little events i can add that will both add to the word count and further characterisation, since it’s largely a character-driven novel.
what’s the inspiration behind your wip: well, i LOVE sci-fi, especially female-centric sci-fi, and i wanted more lesbian representation, so those are two big things that laid the foundation. unfortunately the other contributing factor is that i came up with an au idea for a fanfic, never wrote it, then came across is a bit ago, and went, hm! you know what would be great? if i cannibalised the concept for the skeleton, changed some of the smaller beats, and made it about women! so.
