day six update !!

guys today went SO good!! i wrote two chapters, really one super long angsty scene, and it made me cry a bit in the best way.

i wrote 5794 words of an angel walks into a bar today, and the novel itself is at 11294 words overall.

a lil un-edited snippet from today:

"Can you see him now?" I nodded, and pointed at the tree. Sebastian looked, but there was no hint of recognition in his eyes. The confirmation that Jacob really wasn't there, that this wasn't all just some big mistake, made me cry some more, and I had to bury my face in my knees to hide it. "Angel," Sebastian sounded sad, and I didn't want him to be sad. I rubbed at my face. He shifted closer to me and stroked my back. "Stop it. How many times do I have to tell you that I don't mind if you cry before you believe me?" I made a sound. I wasn't really sure what it was meant to convey, but I made it anyway. Sebastian kept stroking my back, and I kept crying. "I don't know how there's any more water left in me to come out." "We'll pump you full of water and then you can cry as long as you need." I turned my head so I could look at him. "Stick a hose in my mouth until I'm full like a balloon." "Exactly." He poked my nose. I almost smiled. "I can look up how he died, if it really is online and you would rather I find out that way. I can also never look it up, if you don't want me to." The thought of Sebastian watching those videos made me feel sick. "Don't." "Alright," he leaned down and kissed the top of my head. "Thank God. You're cute, but I'm not sure you're cute enough to make me the kind of person who watches True Crime Youtube."

day eleven update !!

oki after a bunch of busy days i finally got some more words down for angel! these scenes have been playing in my mind for days, thank god they have finally been caught and bottled up like they deserve.

drowning has still seen no progress. i'm currently unsure whether or not i want to write drowning to be A Book or to write it as necessary backstory for me to be able to write angel well. things to contemplate.

Billie had this real ability to look at you as though you were dirt. It would have bothered me a lot more if her opinion of me meant anything, but it still bordered on withering. "I'll spell it out for you. That boy is completely and utterly, in every conceivable way, incompetent when it comes to basic household tasks." "Not just incompetent. Creatively incompetent," Kavi said. "Hilariously incompetent," Mattie said. Smudged eyeliner burst into spontaneous laughter. "Oh my God." "We might not have much in this world, Sebastian, but what we do have is the daily joy of watching Caspar Jones fail at completing basic household tasks. Do not ruin that for us by doing a stupid, irritating thing like, I don't know-" "Teaching him to complete the tasks," Mattie interjected. "It's so fucking annoying. Do you know how much interference we have to run when guys do that? Antonio tried to teach him how to fold his socks together properly and I had to gaslight him so fucking hard to get him to go back to the old stupid way."

"Do you wanna," I nudged my head towards the bedroom. His eyes followed my gesture, Kavi-brand hestitation sparkling. I held the Yeti up in front of my face and made it wave a hand at Kavi. "I want to go meet all the other crazy fluffy things in your bedroom, Master Kavi."

He giggled and grabbed the Yeti away from me, hugging it to his chest instead. "You're an idiot."

"Hey, Yeti's are big and scary, man. I think we need to do what it wants, or it's going to start like, eating you in your sleep."

"I'm going to have nightmares now," Kavi shoved my shoulder, but he was already climbing to his feet and traipsing in the direction of his bedroom. "Are you coming?"

I scrambled after him.

An Angel Walks Into A Bar

"You find him boring," Stupid Hot Man said with that quasi-smile thing tugging on his lips that made him look annoyingly attractive. I mean, more annoyingly attractive than he already looked. His white shirt clung tight to his muscles and they rippled beneath the fabric as he reached for his glass and God, did I have a thing for men in tailored formalwear? Speak of Daddy Issues.

Anyway.

"Look, it's not that he's boring, okay? He's fine. I just got bored, cause honestly, the man is always fucking around. Like it got to the point where he was showing up everywhere I went and like, I look up, and woah, there's Antonio, you know? It was just a lot, so I broke things off with him."

"How did he take that?"

"Well, fine, you know, cause it's not like I actually- I mean, a guy stops replying to your texts, then you know it's over, right?"

"I see," he traced his finger around the rim.

day five update !!

oki so i did this for one of the earlier drafts of angel and now that i'm back on my first drafting bullshit, i thought it would be fun :)

the gist is that i am trying to finish first drafts of drowning in deep waters and an angel walks into a bar before the end of the year. whether i achieve this is questionable considering i have been trying to complete a draft of aawiab that i actually like for the whole year, but that's the goal.

wrote 1460 words of an angel walks into a bar today, and the novel is at 5500 words overall. i'm writing this non-linearly, so i wrote a random little scene that will slot in somewhere in the early second act.

billie has mauled me, I alerted Sebastian to the situation. MAULED. in her SLEEP. i live with an animal. How do you get mauled in your sleep? tried to get out of bed :( a maullable offence :((( there is BLOOD. i'm going to get rabies. I will think of you fondly when you're gone. i hate u :((( Are you still in bed? no i'm hiding in the bathroom from the wild animal in my bed

an angel walks into a bar.

genre | queer romance. status | first drafting complete !! vibes | italian countryside, penthouse, bondage bars, empty vodka bottles, drag queens, polyamory, your boyfriend's husband's really terrible band, learning to drive in a ferrari, jumping fences, a gasoline on a bonfire kind of love. in a fancy penthouse in bologna, sebastian silva hides away, jealous and scared of the world in equal measure. then his husband introduces him to a sweet, daring runaway, and the boy invites himself to roadtrip around europe with them for a month. a tender romance begins to blossom between them. sebastian is hesitant, but when his husband goes home, and the boy convinces him to travel a little longer, he is suddenly thrown head first into a love he can hardly keep up with. italy, to switzerland, to croatia, to greece: the boy has demons that haunt him no matter how far they run, and in the middle of the mediterranean with a long stretch of road and no distractions, sebastian realises that he does too. can they face their demons before the road runs out, or will their love crumble and leave them alone once again?

day twelve update !!

guys. today has been so!! much!! fun!! i found a beautiful romance-y soundtrack on youtube and a really nice theme on ellipsus. i never use ellipsus to write! but i was inspired today and between the timer feature and the focus feature i got so many words down!!!

drowning got some attention today, but i'm a bit bored by the start of it. i think that book is going to be more for my own understanding than a novel i polish for general consumption.

angel though. holy fuck, guys. i got the third chapter down, in which caspar realises that the hot stranger he met the other day is in fact the husband of kavi's favourite pop star, and oh fuck i guess now we're making out while watching him perform and welp okay time to fuck in his dressing room i guess.

don't worry about jonathan. they have a threesome the day after.

anyway. i wrote 1957 words of drowning in deep water today, bringing the novel itself to 6300 words overall. i also wrote 4446 words of an angel walks into a bar, and the novel itself is at 18,054 words overall.

I let him kiss me again. I let him press me up against the side of the railing, my hands steady against cold metal, his hands warm on top of them. He kissed me as the music changed from one song to another, through another costume change, through Jonathan talking to the crowd and the crowd screaming back at him. It was all noise, floating somewhere in the background. He kissed me, and I kissed him until the weight of his body against mine was too, too much and I needed more than just his lips on mine, more than just the weight of him against me. I needed his hands on me, my mouth on him, the clothes between us gone. Anybody could see us up here and God that was going to be at the top of my fantasies for the rest of my life, but we would be headlines for a week. I needed him somewhere I could have him.

aawiab is 100% a roadtrip story now and i am so so in love with it. i loved the first draft but this is a million times better and i actually don't know how i'm going to write it without just crying every other scene just from how much love and fondness i have for these characters and their silly little story. i already think about it and feel my heart get all big. like what do you mean they're going to travel all around europe together and adopt a stray dog together and lay out on a mountain and watch the stars together and and and,, tacky tourist hoodies and swimming in lakes and deep conversations against an endless stretch of road and screaming at each other during a yacht party and the dog did i mention the dog.

ugh.

gonna lose it i love them so much.
