a) the pavement thing is 100% canon; b) we have the same headcanon re: that first kiss!!; c) my new Remus headcanon that i cannot shake is that at some point he shaves his head and it drives sirius to distraction for like a billion different reasons (one of many: r shaves his head the summer after the prank and he and s haven’t really “reconciled” and s spends an inordinate amount of time trying to determine the significance of this change/is convinced it’s about him/is so into it)
I LOVE IT... another inscrutable layer to remus’s dismal personal narrative as narrated by sirius black. given that sirius is someone who’s just a tad oblivious to other people’s feelings when he’s younger/i generally see him as someone who doesn’t always notice important signals when he ought to (though coming from remus those would probably be frustratingly vague), so post-Incident, when he’s trying to be a better person etc, it’d manifest as this mild to severe obsession that impedes his quest to be less of an asshole. does it have something to do with their looming adulthood and the hopelessness of his ever getting into university/more anti-werewolf legislation, did he join a band, did he join a cult, did he break up with dearborn who sirius is totally not supposed to know he’s sorta dating, OR is this actually about him... what manner of scandal did remus commit over the summer... is remus trying to tell him something... does remus hate him... or was remus harboring a doomed crush on him that he is now irrevocably over... was remus metaphorically purging sirius from his soul... has their friendship been mowed down like remus’s hair... what could it MEAN
and never under any circumstances would he ask remus about it, not at all, not ever, not even once. what is he, normal or something.
