Abandoned & Condemned Ocean Shore Resort Daytona Beach, Florida. Before & After.
The Ghost Factory, 2011. I took these with some friends of mine in an abandoned apartment building. It was set to be demolished, but for some reason they had kept the lights on and all the electric going. What you can't get from these images are the eerie sounds and ominous warning beeps that emanated through the whole building. We didn't take anything or break anything, but I will admit, no naming names, that one of our group made use of an abandoned fire extinguisher to create the foggy look. Since they'd already done it I went ahead and rolled with it. We were very obviously not the first people who had made their way in. The building was brought down soon after and replaced with fancier apartments with a built in garage. So it goes. The set has 24 photos, so I'll just post some of the stand outs. The rest are on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/shannonbuchanan/albums/72157627978941802
The desolate dark entrance into Soundstage 19 at the then newly-abandoned Nickelodeon Studios Florida, 2006. Closed off and hidden behind construction walls awaiting its final defacing, lit only by the flash of a digital camera.

Abandoned motel in north Florida
Cocoa Beach's first motel - the Starlite Motel was opened in 1956 with 100 rooms. It had a bar, called the Starlight Lounge, which became a hub for off-duty personnel from Cape Canaveral during the late 1956s. The original Starlite Motel was destroyed in a fire in May of 1960 but may have been rebuilt in the 60’s, though I can’t find any documentation online stating this. A much bigger resort (called Ocean Landing Resort and Racquet Club) has since taken it’s place.
