Prompt 7 - Vacant
Wolfstar June 7, word count 222
Previous part First part
Sirius was shivering. His robes were far too thin for the cold morning, and to make matters worse, Remus had only just realised he didn’t have anything on his feet.
“You should turn into Padfoot,” he said, his voice loud in the quiet forest. Sirius stared at him, his eyes a little vacant, but then he blinked, and the light came back. He took another step, his body falling forward into the great shaggy black dog. “Good boy, now let’s find Dumbledore.”
Padfoot barked and took off at a pace faster than Remus could keep up with. “PADS, SLOW DOWN!!!” He shouted into the gloom, but the black dog was gone.
He caught up with him at the edge of the forest, his nose to the ground and sniffing deeply into the leaf litter. “Twat,” Remus admonished, fondly. “Might be best if you stay like that while we walk through the castle.”
The dog rolled its eyes in a very un-dog-like manner, but stayed as a dog and stayed obediently at Remus’s side. Remus took out the map and scanned it. Most of the students were in their classrooms now. The corridors were mostly vacant, and Dumbledore was sitting behind his desk.
They snuck through the castle, up to Dumbledore’s office and then hit a snag. Neither of them knew the password.
