Omfg I typed out a huge and rambling post about this 150+ year old mausoleum I visited today and it's just gone??? 😭 Long story short, Texas has a rich history of colonialism, and not only is the evidence of it still easily accessible despite modern locals generally refusing to acknowledge it, but you can just go see for yourself where the Daughters of the Confederacy are protecting such bizarre monuments to folks like the mother of the man who essentially created the KKK! 🤯. Fucking weird, at best.

I like history and interacting with it, but I do wish it was represented more accurately, you know? I had to follow many a rabbit hole online to cobble together a bunch of information about the founding and development of this one town I live near/work in often, and all the resources depicting the true tumultuous and racist past were conveniently not mentioned at all in all of the government and establishment run journals, golly gee ain't that something. I did find the blog of a very well written and educated man who's family is descendent of the enslaved people of this area, and he's doing so much incredible work just following his own family genealogy that is exposing the dark historic truth about this very proud state.

ANYWAY I had a little adventure today and found a pretty much unmapped old mausoleum lol. Went to Spring to pick up used frames from a previous customer that I can fix up and reuse. Their son had this amazing sticker on his car lol.

On the way out this morning, I had heard the birds going off in the front yard but didn't think anything of it. Then I found a perfectly intact little egg in my driveway. When loading up my truck. There's a small nest in the tree in my yard, so in hopes it would protect the egg and make it easier for the birds to find, I moved it to the grass under the nest. I hope they can pick it up somehow!! 🥺

My new Monday is Admin Day practice went well! I got my shit organized, and fixed up current schedules and task lists. Phew! I can do this, I can run a very small and simple business. Lol.
