On today's episode of my podcast, Scratching the Surface, I have a very fun and enjoyable conversation with Abbott Miller about discovering critical theory in college, writing to find more interesting ways to practice design, and how exhibition design combines his interests in research, writing, curating, and design. Abbott, of course, is a partner at Pentagram where he leads projects in exhibition design, identity, and publishing projects, but before that he ran a studio with his wife, Ellen Lupton, and was a prolific writer, with pieces published in Eye, I.D., and Print.
I've gotten to know Abbott a bit over the last few years, while I was studying in Baltimore, and really enjoyed finally getting a chance to sit down with him and talk about his career and writing. I had a lot of fun in this one and hope you enjoy it too.
