If Abby and mama are a Easter house hold did they go see the bunny and if so how did it go?
My mom took me to the bunny once and I tried to take the head of the costume by the whiskers . Then I cried. I was 3 and mom tells it now she wasn’t gonna traumatize me for a picture so we never went back. So I was just curious.
Awwww. 😞 You know what? Believing there is a human size rabbit is a bit of a stretch.
You got Abby all dressed up in her new Easter dress for pictures with the Easter Bunny at the mall. She stands next to you in the queue, making the skirt of her dress swish. "Mama, this dwess make me feel so princess."
You smile down at her and Bucky chimes in, "It's because you're our princess." Abby blushes and hides her face in her hands and giggles.
As Abby gets closer to the front of the queue, she starts to frown. "Mama? He not the Easter Bunny."
"Of course he's the Easter Bunny! Every one has come out to see him."
"No, Mama. I don't fink so." She starts to glare at the Easter Bunny.
Once it's Abby's turn, the assistant walks her up to the Easter Bunny and places her on his lap. She's still glaring up at the Easter Bunny. The photographer is trying to get her to smile and look towards the camera. "Sweetheart? Can you give us a big smile?"
Abby reaches up to touch the Easter Bunny's face and discovers it's a costume. It's hard. She gasps and lets out a scream. "He not weal!! He try to tricks me! Papa! Papa!" The stunned worker tries to keep Abby on his lap so she doesn't hurt herself, but Abby fights him, punching him in the face and wherever she can reach. "Papa helps!!" Bucky jumps over the divider ropes to get to Abby. Scooping her up in his arms. "Him's not a wabbit! Him's not weal?! It all fake! He try to be tricksy!!" Abby buries her face in Bucky's neck and cries.
"Shhhh. I got you, Abby Baby. Papa's here." He rubs little circles on her back, trying to calm her.
You're left to apologize to the workers. Paying for the photos they did take and leaving them with a fat tip.
You catch up to Bucky and Abby outside. She's still clinging to Bucky in a death grip. "Abigail? Are you ok? Do you want to talk about it?" You drop kisses on her.
"I was scared he was part of the bad people. Him was going to take me and all the kids."
"Oh sweet girl, I'm sorry that scared you. Bucky and I would never ever let that happen. I didn't want to tell you but the Easter Bunny is pretend. He's not like Santa who is a real person. Mommies and Daddies made him up to make their children happy with baskets of toys and candies and coloring of the eggs."
"Yea, Santa is real peoples." She sits up in Bucky's lap. "That means you lied to me." You give Bucky a panicked look.
"It...it wasn't...no, it wasn't a lie. We just didn't know you thought he was a real bunny." Bucky huffs out a nervous laugh, "I've never seen a people sized rabbit who could talk, right? Animals can't talk."
"Maybe we should have been more clear." Abby is silent taking all this new information in.
"It was a rough day, I think we need some ice cream." Bucky, knowing how to distract his toddler. "Who wants ice cream?"
Abby raises her hand all excited, "I want Starbury!"
"Have you ever had a banana split? I think I'm getting that. You can try some. Mama? You up for some ice cream?"
You give Bucky a grateful smile, "I'd like that a lot."
