he’s definitely a gem, i’d be so sad if he ever left us 😭 i’m sure tonight was a bit of a fluke, he said his fastball command just wasn’t there at all.

Is that not the point of spring training though? Dude has 11 seasons under his belt, granted 10 of them are with the Angels but still there is that adjusting to new team makes etc. But I feel like spring training would be his adjustment period.

But adjustment shouldn’t affect his defense. It’s the same position as he was playing with the Angels. Dirt and grass is dirt and grass and the baseball is the same. I don’t think adjustment is the issue here.

Well he’s not up but he easily could be. He’s played it before, last year when Simmons got hurt, and he did a great job.

It’s much better that what Mark Bowman is saying the Braves might do. He’s saying that if Aybar doesn’t improve (which is a long shot) then they’ll move him to second and put Castro in a SS. But moving Aybar over isn’t gonna help at all I don’t think.

The smartest thing would be to take Aybar out of the lineup, see what Jace + Castro can do. If it’s better then keep it like that. There is no reason to keep subjecting ourselves to this because if Aybar’s the problem then bench his ass.
